Ava DuVernay Says Her New OWN Drama ‘Queen Sugar’ Will Only Have Women Directors [Video]

Director Ava DuVernay is using her position of power to foster change for women and people of color in Hollywood.

In an interview with ReelBlack at the Sundance Film Festival, Ava opens up about working on her first television show for OWN, Queen Sugar.

During her chat, she revealed the show plans to use all-women directors and she plans on hiring “a lot of women that we know from the Black independent film space.”
