Don’t take her friends’ word for it, Aretha Franklin wants you to know that she’s very much alive and well.
As we told you earlier this week, a false report circulated claiming Aretha was on her deathbed. Aretha’s friends Shaun Robinson and Roland Martin both came out to dispel the rumors — but now Aretha’s dispelling them herself.
In a statement to Us Weekly, she says she’s ‘doing well.’
“I’m doing well generally, all test have come back good. I’ve lost a lot of weight due to side effects of medicine, it affects your weight … Thanxxxx for your concern.”
And there it is. Aretha has yet to publicly disclose what illness she’s on medication for, but we send her nothing but prayers and well wishes!
