Alfonso Ribeiro’s career has been on the uptick after the former Fresh Prince actor captured the season 19 Dancing with the Stars trophy last November.

During last night’s Dancing with the Stars season 20 finale, Tom Bergeron, who serves as the current host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, announced that Alfonso would succeed him as the show’s new host starting this fall.

Tom has hosted AFV since 2001.

AFV executive producer Vin Di Bona is optimistic about Alfonso’s future on the show.

“We look forward to Alfonso leading ‘AFV’ into the next generation of family friendly viewership.”

Congratulations, Alfonso!
