Alex Rodriguez to Join ‘Good Morning America’ as a Guest Contributor

Alex Rodriguez has another new gig.

The former Yankee star and current FOX Sports commentator will join ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ as a guest contributor.

The former third baseman appeared on ABC’s “The View” a few weeks ago, guesting for the entire one-hour taping.

He apparently did so well that ABC brass thought he might be a good addition, sources say. The 41-year-old could possibly appear on other ABC news programs as well, they added.

Rodriguez has been expanding his on-air time since stepping away from baseball last year.

He currently works as a FOX studio baseball analyst, while the Yankees are still paying him $21 million on what was left on his contract.

The Washington Heights-born slugger made his debut as an FS1 color commentator alongside play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt last week during a Yankees-Royals game at Kauffman Stadium.

The broadcast went smooth, but a pre-game tweet raised some eyebrows.

Fox tweeted a picture of a studious A-Rod with a notebook in front of him, but some internet sleuths zoomed in to reveal an awkward “Child” list in front of A-Rod that included items such as “Birth control,” “Baby,” and “Pull out stuff.”

The tweet was deleted.

Rodriguez shared an awkward TV moment with former teammate Derek Jeter earlier this month when the pair appeared at a charity event.

The two ducked questions from CNBC’s Bob Pisani about their private lives and other topics.

A-Rod, who is still being paid around $130,000 a night to be a special adviser this season for the Yankee, has been making use of his time away from the diamond — dating Jennifer Lopez.

Rodriguez, 41, and the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer have been together for almost five months, but didn’t go public until early March.

Rodriguez was suspended for the entire 2014 season because of his alleged involvement with the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drugs scandal.

During the course of his career, he earned over $441 million, according to baseball-reference.com.

We bet Jennifer Lopez is super proud of her man!
