Roseanne Barr issued an apology after a bizarre, racist Twitter rant Tuesday morning, and then she announced she’s “now leaving Twitter.”

“I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans,” Barr tweeted. “I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste.”

Early Tuesday morning, Roseanne tweeted:

“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”

She was responding to a comment about Jarrett, a top former aide to president Obama.

Roseanne later deleted the tweet.

Many are calling for ABC to cancel season 2 of their highly-successful ‘Roseanne’ reboot.
