Late last night, a rumor sprang up on the internet that Aretha Franklin was on the verge of passing away and that friends & family were at the hospital saying their goodbyes.
According to people close to Aretha, this rumor is FALSE.
Roland Martin took to Twitter to dispel the rumor, saying he spoke to a close team member who confirms Aretha is ‘alive and well.’
DO NOT spread the BS that @ArethaFranklin has passed away. She is ALIVE AND WELL. Just talked to one of her close team members. I have calls out to her directly as well. JUST STOP!

Shaun Robinson also took to Twitter with her own account, saying she spoke to someone who spoke directly to Aretha and said she’s fine.
