Nickelodeon has decided to reboot beloved game show ‘Double Dare’ for a new 40-episode run.

Nick released a statement saying it wanted to give “a new generation of kids the chance to compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives.” The series will also feature plenty of callbacks to the original , as well as a variety of guests including current stars and a few familiar faces from the past.
The show pits two teams against each other as they answer trivia questions and go through challenges and obstacle courses like a giant human hamster wheel and theDouble Dare nose. The series debuted in 1986 and quickly became a popular daily staple on cable television, and eventually became the longest-running game show on the network until it ended in 1993.
In 2000, Double Dare made it back for a short-lived resurgence. Host Marc Summers, 66, has been asking for the show’s comeback for a while, but it’s unclear whether or not he’ll be reprising his role in these new episodes. In 2016, the network honored the show’s 30th anniversary with a live version at San Diego Comic-Con with the cast of another Nick classic, All That.
