Life Comes At You Fast: Brooklyn Teen Charged for Murder After Scaring a Woman to Death During a Robbery

18-year-old Nia Williams has been charged with murder and robbery for a break-in that lead to the death of 68-year-old Brenda Ramos.

via NYDN:

Williams and two men busted into Ramos’ apartment on Kings Highway near E. 94th St. in Canarsie, and hit her at least once with a hammer — triggering a fatal heart attack, police said.

Ramos’ roommate, Joseph Alexander, 40, was also beaten before the thieves took off with his wallet, cell phone and a video game console, cops said.

“I was sleeping, next thing I woke up, I was in blood,” Alexander previously told the Daily News. “Brenda was on the floor knocked out. I called 911.”

Medics took Ramos to Brookdale University Hospital where she died. Alexander survived his injuries.

The city Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Ramos’ death a homicide in April, saying the hammer attack and fright during the hold-up caused her heart attack.

The bandits were captured on surveillance video leaving the building with a large duffel bag.

Williams’ accomplices remain at large.
