‘The Wire’ Star Michael K. Williams Allegedly Owes Friend Thousands for Getting Him Roles

Emmy-nominated actor Michael K. Williams — known for his roles as Omar Little on “The Wire” and Albert “Chalky” White on “Boardwalk Empire” — allegedly owes hundreds of thousands of dollars to a friend who helped get him years of work.

Michael Kimbrew began working with a broke Williams when the actor was crashing on Kimbrew’s Los Angeles couch between 2008 and 2010 and says Williams failed to pay him $450,000 in managerial fees, according to his Manhattan federal court suit.

The two men had formed Freedome Productions together, and their projects earned some $2.5 million, but Kimbrew — who claims he was to be paid a 20 percent cut of the revenues — says he has been paid just $3,000.

The actor’s lawyer, David Stein, called the lawsuit “baseless” and promised a vigorous response.

Major League Baseball joined in the Battle of Bended Knee Saturday night, with rookie Yankees catcher CC Sabathia saying that should the Bombers win the World Series, he “probably” wouldn’t accept an invite to the White House.

“We got a long way to go, but if the opportunity is there, I probably wouldn’t go,” Sabathia said after his team clinched a playoff berth against the Blue Jays.

Also the first player took a knee during the anthem: Oakland A’s rookie catcher Bruce Maxwell, who in a mixed-message gesture, dropped onto his left knee and held his cap to his heart.

Always get it in writing.
