Whose Idea Was This? #CosbyMeme Backfires & the Whole Internet Brings Up Bill Cosby’s Rape Allegations [Photos]

We don’t know who on Bill Cosby’s team thought a Bill Cosby meme generator would be a good idea in today’s day and age, but they certainly learned a valuable lesson yesterday.

If you don’t know, in 2006 Bill Cosby settled a civil suit filed by a 32-year-old woman who claimed Bill drugged and sexually assaulted her in Philedelphia back in 2004. After the woman’s story landed the cover of PEOPLE magazine, 13 other women came forward in a civil suit against Bill Cosby and recounted stories of rape and sexual assault at the hands of Bill dating back to the 1970s.

Because of Bill’s weight in the entertainment industry (before the days of social media), most of it was swept under the rug until recent months.

Now, yesterday Bill Cosby’s camp decided to publicize and promote a #COSBYMEME campaign via BillCosby.com allowing anyone to create & submit their own ‘funny’ memes.

Unfortunately they underestimated the Internet.

Check out some of the more popular memes making their way around the Internet.

This is what you’d call a PR disaster.
