Update: Police Determine ‘Human Error’ Caused the 14-Year-Old Girl to Fall From the Gondola Ride at Six Flags

Earlier this week, scary footage surfaced of a 14-year-old girl falling 25ft from a gondola ride at Six Flags.

After investigation, police have determined that the ride functioned as intended — but it was the girl’s own actions that caused the accident.

Police on Monday said after investigating the incident, they believe “human error” on the part of the teen caused the accident.

According to The Post Star, Lt. Steve Stockdale said the girl had slipped underneath the restraint bar on the ride.

They also said at the time of the incident, the Sky Ride was working properly and the teen did not have a medical problem causing her to slip.

Authorities believe the teen was either playing around and slipped underneath the bar or was not paying attention.

A few witnesses thought the girl may have been trying to kick tree branches as the ride passed by, but police don’t believe that’s what happened.

“It could have been a lot worse than it was,” Stockdale said.

Following the scary encounter, the girl was taken to Albany Medical Center without any serious injuries.

Let’s hope she learned her lesson and won’t be doing whatever it was she was doing in that ride EVER again…
