Did you donate to TLC’s Kickstarter campaign to fund their final album?
Quite a few people did — as they managed to raise over $430,000 earlier this year. Since the campaign ended, TLC hasn’t delivered anything related to the project and fans are getting impatient.
On Sunday, the group updated their Kickstarter page with a message saying their new music won’t drop in 2015 as promised, but instead it’ll arrive sometime in 2016.
“After seeing and greeting so many of you on our tour this summer, we took a short break and now we are in the studio recording our new album with Ron Fair, coming out in 2016. The music is coming out great and it’s only with your support of TLC on Kickstarter that this is possible. We thank you and promise that we will continue rolling out all the Kickstarter prizes except the album by mid-October. We are moving the album back to 2016, so that we will have more time to finish the record the TLC way. Thanks as always for your love and support and we can’t wait to deliver a new record and tour next year.”
One fan asked T-Boz directly for a refund of the $5 he contributed to the cause, and T-Boz told him to contact Kickstarter for it — which set people off!
Now, people are e-gathering by using the hashtag #TLCIsGoingToJailParty and joking about the fact the group allegedly stole the money and ran.
