We haven’t had a chance to see Django Unchained yet, however we hear it’s pretty phenomenal. Unfortunately, director Spike Lee doesn’t quite feel the same way.

While Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” has been largely celebrated by critics, there is one person who is less than happy with the film. Filmmaker Spike Lee has spoken out against “Django” for the movie’s portrayal of slavery.

“I cant speak on it cause I’m not gonna see it,” Lee said in an interview with VIBETV.“All I’m going to say is that it’s disrespectful to my ancestors. That’s just me…I’m not speaking on behalf of anybody else.”

Lee also took to his Twitter this week to slam the film.

“Django Unchained,” which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson, follows Jamie Foxx as a freed slave who works with a bounty hunter to fight the slave owners who captured his wife. The movie hits theaters Dec. 25.
