Say What Now? Woman Faints After Jury Finds Her Guilty of Hiring Someone to Kill Her Husband [Video]

45-year-old Diana Lovejoy was found guilty in a murder-for-hire plot and fainted the moment she heard the verdict.

In response to Lovejoy’s loss of consciousness, the judge temporarily recessed the hearing, delaying the reading of a second conviction for a co-defendant in the same case.

Lovejoy was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder, both of which link back to a Sept. 1, 2016 attack on her estranged husband Greg Mulvihill, KSWB reported.

Weldon McDavid Jr., a 50-year-old Marine veteran, was convicted of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

According to KSWB, he shed tears as the jury read their decision aloud.

The prosecution alleged in court that Lovejoy accused Mulvihill, 45, of molesting their son and abusing her sexually. No evidence was ever presented proving her claims.

They decided to go their separate ways in July 2014, with the couple having joint custody of their child.

Just as their divorce proceedings were nearing an end, the attack on Mulvihill occurred.

According to KSWB, he received a phone call from a person who claimed they were a private investigator. The caller also told him they’d obtained dirt on Lovejoy, and asked that Mulvihill to go to a dirt road in Carlsbad, Calif., where he could pick up the package of materials pertaining to Lovejoy.

Mulvihill agreed, making the drive with a co-worker.

The outlet reported that he was using a flashlight to search for the package when, according to the witness, they spotted something in the bushes.

Both men believed it looked to be a person wielding a rifle, which was pointed in their direction.

Shots were fired, KSWB reported, and Mulvihill was injured.

After an investigation into the incident, police discovered that Lovejoy bought the phone used to place the call to her estranged husband.

They linked McDavid to the crime through feces found in the bushes in which the witness’ claimed they’d seen someone holding a gun.

KSWB reported that they then found several guns in McDavid’s garage along with a silencer and “blast bag” filled with shell casings.

McDavid’s attorney argued that he fired shots only after hearing someone shout “I have a gun,” according to the outlet.

“If Weldon McDavid wanted to kill someone with his skill set, he would have done so. … That was not his intent,” his attorney said, according to KSWB.

It took jurors two days to reach their verdicts in the case.

Lovejoy and McDavid are facing 25 and 50 years to life respectively. They’re due to be sentenced next month.

Ma’am — there’s no need to be extra. You’re going to jail.
