[Update] Rachel Roy and Jay-Z’s Close Relationship to Blame for Solange Meltdown?

The way they were. Solange and Rachel were bffs at the 2013 Met Gala.

Since its been made apparent that Solange or Jay-Z won’t be speaking on their heated elevator fight, we’ve had to do some digging of our own, to bring you love muffins the scoop!

A source told the New York Daily News that Rachel Roy’s close relationship to Jay-Z  is what sparked the flame for Solange to give her brother-in-law a private beat down.

“Rachel is a little too close to Jay-Z. Solange doesn’t like it, and Beyonce doesn’t like it,” said the insider.

As we reported earlier this week, Solange and Rachel got into a heated argument on the dance floor after the Met gala. Sources say Beyonce stepped in and broke up the catfight.

“Anyone who gets close to Jay has to be warned and deal with her as a sister,” a source told Us Weekly.

Maybe since Beyonce stepped in-between Solange’s first confrontation with Rachel, she thought it was only right to let her sister stand up for her, hence Bey keeping her cool in the elevator.

Hmmm…

E! News has more  on what went down that night between Rachel Roy & The Carter clan, saying:

“At the gala, Rachel was being flirtatious with Jay,” a source exclusively tells E! News. “Once everyone was at the Boom Boom Room for the after-party, her flirtations were elevated.”

“Beyoncé approached Rachel to let her know the behavior was disrespectful and she wanted her out of their lives for good,” the source goes on. “Solange came over to have her sister’s back, and things got heated with her and Rachel. Jay said some disrespectful things to Beyoncé and Solange as the confrontation was going down. That’s why all hell broke loose in the elevator and why Beyoncé just stood back and let Solange hit Jay.”

Regarding the aftermath, the source says, “Solange’s primary residence is now in New Orleans, not Brooklyn. She is in [New Orleans] getting back to her normal life: being a mom, taking her son to school and trying to get on with it.”

We’ll never really know what happened for sure, but this is probably the most likely account of what actually went down.
