David Alan Grier has joined the cast of The Wiz Live!
The veteran actor has been cast in the role of the Cowardly Lion in NBC’s live production, which airs on December 3.
He joins previously announced cast members Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and original Wiz Broadway actress Stephanie Mills.
In more Wiz casting news, the live production has found its Dorothy.
Eighteen-year-old newcomer Shanice Williams will play the coveted role of Dorothy.
The news was announced this morning on The Today Show.
