With season one coming to an end next Wednesday, details regarding Empire‘s second season have already begun to emerge.
Co-creators Lee Daniels and Danny Strong spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about their plans for season two, and some pretty huge names were dropped.
Lee has already expressed his desire to secure Denzel Washington for a season two arc, and now he’s heavily courting Oprah.
“I tell him: ‘Lee, it’s not enough that you’ve taken every viewer possible on Wednesday night. Now you want me to leave my own network?’ ” says Winfrey, to which Daniels howls with laughter, “I’m wearing her down!”
Give in, Oprah! Give in to Empire!
While it’s unknown whether Spike Lee will appear on an episode of Empire, he has reached out to Lee about directing an episode for the show’s second season.
Who do you want to see appear on Empire next season? We think it’s safe to say that everyone will appear on an episode at some point.
