The Dream has been teasing the commercial release of his 2011 mixtape, 1977, on Instagram but now we have a concrete release date as well as one of the additional tracks to make the album.
1977 will hit stores on December 18 with additional songs including “AK-47“. Listen to the song below, courtesy of Rap-Up.
I like the song, but it has too many elements that remind me of his work on 2 Chainz’s “Extremely Blessed”. What I appreciated about the original 1977 mixtape was that while it was still The Dream, it sounded different from any of his other productions at the time. I’m still really looking forward to the release.
