Shocking video captures the moment a mass brawl broke at O’Hare International Airport’s baggage carousel which ended with a man and woman being charged.

The footage, which has gone viral on social media, shows the moment the huge fistfight broke out late Monday night in the baggage hall of the Chicago airport’s Terminal 3.

Chaotic scenes show a group of around a dozen people grappling, including two pairs of women who can be seen rolling on the floor violently yanking at each others’ hair and throwing punches.

Two men can be seen coming to blows before ending up on the carousel itself as others join the melee. One of them can be seen being punched on the luggage belt, causing his hat to fly off, before he appears to be kicked in the face.

Police confirmed that following the brawl, a 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old had been charged with battery.

A woman can be seen being held on the floor by her hair engaged in a fight with two other women – one of whom is barefoot – as travel pillows and other belongings lay scattered on the floor.

Onlookers can be frequently heard shouting for security and for the others to stop fighting, as others can be seen with crossed arms watching the chaos unfold.

Another woman can be seen attempting to hit another person with what appears to be a shoe before a man starts punching her in the face, sending her to the ground.

One of the woman who was engaged in the fight on the floor manages to get to her feet and braids of her bright red hair can be seen laying on the terminal floor.

After the video ended, Chicago Police confirmed in a statement that two people had been arrested and charged in connection with the brawl.

Christopher Hampton, 18, from Maywood, Illinois, and Tembra Hicks, 20, from Carol Stream, Illinois, have both been charged with battery over the incident.

It is unclear exactly what triggered the violence. O’Hare International have not confirmed which flight the group had been traveling on before the fight.

In a statement, Chicago Police said: ‘A verbal dispute while deplaning escalated in the lower level of terminal 3 when a 24-year-old female victim was punched by two offenders.

‘The offenders were placed into custody and charged accordingly.’

A statement from O’Hare International Airport said: ‘Safety and security are always the top priorities of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA).

‘We work closely with all of our federal partners present at O’Hare and Midway International Airports and the Chicago Police Department to ensure that everyone is safe when they are in our facilities.

‘The CDA also ensures that its airline partners have clear lines of communication to public safety resources for occurrences within their leased areas.’

It comes after workers at Spirit Airlines traded blows with unruly passengers as they were boarding a flight in a video.

The brawl erupted at Philadelphia International Airport in February and showed a mom and daughter being hit with extra fees due to heavy carry on luggage

The shocking footage shows the two travelers grabbing and clawing at gate agents at the entrance to the jetway.
