Jas Waters, an entertainment journalist and writer on NBC’s “This Is Us” and Showtime’s “Kidding,” has died at the age of 39.
Her passing was confirmed by friend and fellow-writer, Sade Sellers.
Absolutely devastated to confirm @JasFly ‘s passing. She was such a light. Offered me advice about writing so many times— prayers to her family.

Waters was a well-respected talent in the entertainment industry for many years. In 2012, she even landed her very own column in VIBE magazine. From there, she would go on to write for shows such as Showtime’s “Kidding,” NBC’s “This Is Us,” VH1’s “Gossip Game” and many more. She also worked on hit projects such as “Spiderman 1 and Spiderman 2, Hardball, Save The Last Dance, MTV’s Real World, Barbershop 1 and Barbershop 2 and the NBC’s ER,” according to her IMDB page.
Friends and those inspired by Jas took to social media to pay their respects.
I just want you to know that your friendship, your voice and your light will leave an impact that will far exceed what we all do in the physical. Rest well, @jasfly. Godspeed. ??

Today is going to tear me a part. I have so many @JasFly stories. I’ll share them when it feels right. She was the strongest woman I’ve ever met. I cherished our walks on the paramount lot. She is the reason I got to work on This Is Us. Think I’m going to go dark for a bit. ??
