Ezekiel Elliott will not face ANY charges for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
The Columbus, OH City Attorney says there were inconsistent details about what the woman claimed were 5 separate incidents from July 17 to July 22 — and as a result prosecutors felt there wasn’t enough evidence to bring a case against the Cowboys running back.
The City Attorney says Elliott and his attorneys fully cooperated with the investigation. In his statement to police, Elliott said the woman told him, “I am going to ruin your career, you have messed with the wrong person!”
Prosecutors released a bunch of photos showing bruises on the woman, which she claimed Elliott inflicted. The City Attorney Office says it tried to determine the source of the injuries.
They’re not saying it, but it appears prosecutors couldn’t find enough evidence to pin it on Elliott. According to docs, Elliott told police the bruises were from a fight she’d had with someone else at a nightclub.
Elliott has always maintained the woman was NOT a girlfriend … just someone with whom he had a “sexual relationship.”
The NFL is still said to be investigating the incident independently.
