Lindsay Lohan’s surprisingly candid interview with Oprah Winfrey for Oprah’s Next Chapter aired Sunday night.
During the sit-down, Lindsay opens up about her past drug use and her future as a recovering alcoholic.
“I’m an addict,” said Lindsay. “That, in the past, was a gateway to other things for me. I tried cocaine with alcohol,” she added, but explained that she did not enjoy using cocaine. “I never felt good the next day…it allowed me to drink more. It was a party thing. People would have it, and I’d do it.”
“[I’m ready] to get the thing that has made me happiest my whole life back, which is to work really hard, stay focused and prove myself,” said Lindsay about looking to the future. “I have to regain trust in people, in my career, that had doubts, and I fully respect that on their behalf. As long as I stay honest in myself and do the work I’m willing to do and have been willing to do and am doing, then nothing can stand in my way. I am my own worst enemy, and I know that.”
