R. Kelly Speaks Out in Support of His ‘Transguy’ Son: ‘You can’t judge nobody’ [Video]

R. Kelly sat down backstage after WCGI’s Summer Jam show in Chicago and finally addressed reports that his 14-year-old child, Jay Kelly, identifies as a ‘transguy’.

In coming out to the world, Jay revealed that his mother was incredibly supportive of his transition — however he didn’t mention anything about his father. Most assumed that R. Kelly wasn’t as supportive.

When asked to address the reports, he said:

You don’t wanna really open it up with saying my daughter is becoming my son. Because, if that were true — don’t even give the blogs that kind of credit.

Real talk, but as far as that’s concerned. Always believe what you see — with your own eyes that is. That’s the best way to go about this business. You know, I’ve heard a lot of things about a lot of people and it was never true.

You get to a point where you start counting your money, you start counting the future, you start counting the past and you start to let’s make some sense out of things.

(Kelly then goes on a tangent about saving money so his kids can go to college)

No matter what they are, who they are, they’re still your kids. You love them, you gotta support them. You gotta support them. You get rid of that big house and knock it down to size and you save that money because it’s not about me no more, it’s about them. It’s about three lovely, lovely kids that I am in love with and that’s in love with me (sic).

Even when you see it with your own eyes, you have to know that it’s a backstory and a background and that’s why you can’t judge nobody.
