Some man in Africa has hit the online dating jackpot — and her name is Sarah.

In a preview for an upcoming episode of Dr. Phil, Sarah reveals that she’s wired around $1.4 million to a man named Chris Olsen, whom she “met” on an online dating site.

via Life&Style:

They’ve been “dating” for the past 17 months, though he’s never come to see her because he’s supposedly stuck in Africa after traveling there on business. He told Sarah he’s a widower with two daughters, who keeps getting arrested every time he attempts to come to America.

Not only has she given him bail money (after he claimed he was falsely accused of money laundering) but she’s sent him cash for hotel bills, lawyers and even his nanny!

They still talk on the phone for several hours every day, though strangely enough, his voice has differed over the months. “When I first started talking to him he sounded Italian. Now his accent has kind of changed,” she says (yeah, no way is this a scam).

“I am 95 percent certain that Chris is telling me the truth, that this is all legit,” Sarah adds. “He assured me that when he gets home he’s going to pay me back every dime.”

Sarah’s hoping that ‘Dr. Phil’ will be able to unite her and Chris for the first time.

It’s obvious from the clip (and the story) that Sarah has some serious self-esteem issues. Poor thing. It’s unfortunate that this man has been able to take advantage of her for this long.

Dr. Phil is supposed to be helping them meet — but we don’t see that happening. The episode airs in full on March 3rd.
