Guess she didn’t have The X Factor after all.
Khloe Kardashian-Odom has been fired from The X Factor according to The New York Post. The 28-year-old reality star has reportedly not been asked back for season 3 of the struggling Fox show. Mrs. Lamar Odom came to the table with no hosting experience, but a heavy Kardashian-loving following. However, producers plans seems to have backfired, because The X Factor suffered a 20% decline in ratings even with the season two talent revamp.
An insider spoke to The Post about Khloe’s firing saying:
“They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe…at the end of the day, when she doesn’t know what she is doing, are you helping your show or hurting it?”
This firing of the youngest Kardashain comes after the announcement that Britney Spears and LA Reid would not be returning next season as well. Replacement judges have yet to be found, although rumors are swirling that Demi Lovato will return, alongside Cheryl Cole, who was quickly fired after two episodes in season one.
It may also signal that the show — which invested $15 million in Spears last season only to see ratings plunge by 20 percent during the season — is trimming its talent budget.
An X Factor spokesperson has declined to comment on either rumor and said “The producers have not yet made the talent decisions for this year.”
