Jeezy is being sued by a concert promoter for $100,000.
The promoter is alleging that the rapper pocketed a $30,000 deposit for a show but never showed up.

According to the civil lawsuit filed Feb. 8 in U.S. District Court in Houston, Jeezy had agreed to a one-hour concert Dec. 9 at The Arena Theatre, 7326 Southwest Freeway. Court records indicate he was paid half of the $60,000 concert fee.
Houston promoter Darryl Austin filed the suit against Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, and well as YJ Productions and Concerts, and its principal, Sammy Mumphery of Atlanta.
As stated in the original complaint, negotiations for the concert began in October, when Austin agreed to pay Jenkins $60,000 for the performance. He gave him half at the outset, including a $20,000 direct deposit into his checking account.
Based upon their negotiations, Austin said in the complaint that he was “free to advertise and promote the event which he started doing by paying for the venue, buying radio space and arranging ticket sales….”
In November, the rapper who is also called Young Jeezy, notified Austin through a representative that he didn’t want to perform at The Arena, the complaint states. At that point, more than 1,000 tickets had been sold, according to court documents.
Austin tried to make concessions to appease Jeezy, the suit states, but the rapper insisted he would not perform and would not return the deposit.
Jeezy started asking for $80,000, which Austin agreed to, “feeling cornered and in distress,” the complaint states.
Then, “at the last minute,” Jeezy decided to attend a party for the release of his new album in Atlanta on the concert date. Austin tried to work out an arrangement to reschedule the Houston concert, or even fly Jeezy by private jet to Houston after the album-release party, to no avail, the suit states.
Austin, who is represented by attorney Troy J. Wilson in Richmond, is seeking at least $100,000 in breach-of-contract damages and return of the $30,000 deposit.
