HBO recently premiered the first trailer for its upcoming original film, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.
Starring Oprah Winfrey, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Courtney B. Vance and more, the film chronicles the true story of Deborah Lacks’ journey “to learn about the mother she never knew and understand how the unauthorized harvesting of [Henrietta] Lacks’ cancerous cells in 1951 led to unprecedented medical breakthroughs, changing countless lives and the face of medicine forever” (HBO).
