A lot of people are buzzing about Lady Gaga’s SXSW performance in which she was willingly vomited on by a performance artist, but fellow pop artist Demi Lovato doesn’t take too kindly to the display.
As most of you know, Demi Lovato received treatment for an eating disorder (among other things). She finds Lady Gaga’s performance irresponsible and insensitive.
She tweeted:
Sad… As if we didn’t have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already. ???? Bottom line, it’s not “cool” or “artsy” at all. Would you let someone bring a needle and shoot up on you? Addiction is addiction. It’s not “shade” and it’s not “hate”. But someone has to come forward and say it and I’ll take the heat for it. @ladygaga you’re SO talented, if not one of the most talented in our industry PERIOD. Dope is INCREDIBLE.. but you don’t have to do that
After receiving some criticism for her comments, she continued her defense:
Lady Gaga has yet to respond, but when she does we’ll let you know! Check back for updates.
