Anderson Cooper Drops F-Bomb: ‘I didn’t know we were allowed to say f–k’

This is why we love Anderson Cooper.

CNN’s Silver Fox hosted Sean Penn’s second annual Help Haiti Home benefit for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization last night at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills. And he decided it was OK for him to cuss from the podium after Penn gave an impassioned F-bomb filled plea for donations.

“I didn’t know we were allowed to say f—k,” Anderson said. “I would have said f—k so much more.”

He continued with a few more words not suitable for all ages.

Cooper also told Penn that if there was time, he would serenade the crowd with an a cappella cover of Bette Midler’s 1982 ballad, “Wind Beneath My Wings.” (He didn’t make good on his promise, but Pearl Jam rocker Eddie Vedder did a three-song set to close out the night.) And when Cooper first met Penn in Haiti, he said he wasn’t sure how the sometimes volatile actor would behave. “I worried if I pointed a camera at him, he’d beat me up,” Cooper cracked.
