Love muffins, I need to tell you about Danity Kane’s new super duper splendiferous album that was released today by the way! I love their new album even though it took me a couple of listens. Like I said in a previous post, their harmonies and vocal arrangements are just stellar! Each lady owned it! If you want your man to get in the mood, dance to “Striptease”. If you are ready to go clubbing with the girls, do the paw paw to “Lights Out”. If you are a sucker for love, well then check out “Sucka for Love”. All in all, this album has a little bit of everything for everyone! Don’t forget to support them by picking up a copy at your nearest Wal-mart, Best Buy, or where ever records are sold. Don’t forget to catch them on MTV’s TRL today.

March 11, 2008 Tuesday CD Release

So, there is alot of music being released today… most of it you probably had no idea was coming out – and that’s what I’m here for. To keep you entertained and informed, and I’ll do my best to give you the REAL on what you need to be listening to and what you should probably walk right on pass in the music store today. With that said… Here’s what’s in stores today!

Listen! Can I tell you that this album is sooooo hot! It really is good. I’m listening to this Fat Joe album right now and I’m very very impressed. Hip Hop is absolutely not dead with this album being released. My only issue is – someone needs to pay me to pick singles for these artists. I always have a complaint about that when I hear the album. Fat Joe, your first single should have been CocaBaby! I have to admit that I wasn’t excited about this album when I heard the first single. But I’m trying to tell you. You want to hear this new album from Joe. If you are a Fat Joe fan – I think you are going to be very pleased. In fact – several times while listening to it, I had to stop and just laugh at how fresh Joe’s flow is this time around. Thanks Fat Joe. Elephant In The Room in stores now!

I was talking this morning to a home girl of mine about new music out today, and of course I had to bring up Big Snoop Dogg and his 15 years in the hip hop game. Much respect! She said, “Well. What do you think?” I pursed my lips real tight and said, “well… (sigh) ummm. It’s very – ummm… something.” Now, of course I am mindful that Snoop is a legend in the hip hop game, so there’s not much bad I can say about him and get away with it – however – Sexual Erruption as a lead single may be very telling of what the actual album is like. (end of comment) Given a second chance, I probably would walk on by… but you have minds and opinions of your own – so you decide. Ego Trippin’ in stores now!

The melodic and sweet voiced Sarah Slean also is releasing an album today. I only have good things to say about Sarah. She has a dynamic spirit and is a phenomenal song writer. Do go out and buy Sarah Slean’s new album The Baroness in stores now!

You think, if you’re going to have a commercial hit in hip hop, you should drop a single with T-Pain on it. But the true equation to having a hit single is having Lil’Wayne on it (in my opinion). With that said, again I’d like to suggest my services to A&R divisions everywhere. Let me pick the singles from now on. Rick Ross is back with a follow up to his 2006 success Port of Miami. You may remember him because of how often he’s hustlin’… in fact, according to Ross “everyday” he’s hustlin’. Either way – I’m not convinced that he’s able to have as much commercial success as he did the first time around – but we’ll see. There are some good tracks on this album and I think we may hear from Ross for a little bit longer. I for one love the track with Lil’ Wayne on it. Buy the album – then come back and tell me your thoughts! The Trilla in stores now!

Next Week: Keith Sweat and Danity Kane : ) LOL! I can’t wait to review these albums!

February 26, 2008 Tuesday CD Release!

Since we have talked so much about Janet Jackson’s Discipline and Erykah Badu’s New Amerykah albums – both in stores TODAY – let’s take a moment to talk about some albums released today that you might not have been hearing as much about.

I honestly didn’t even know Ms. Cheri Dennis’ album was coming out today until I started working on this post. But never the less – Bad Boy is FINALLY releasing this poor child’s music to the masses. I’ve heard a couple of tracks this morning and I kind of like… I’m pleased with her voice – but not so sure about the choices the label is making as far as promoting her goes… and I’m eh? about the current single… but again, I do love her voice so – I’m rooting for her.

Portrait Of Love (current single) video below:

Also in stores:
Pete Rock- NY’s Finest Love Muffins get into this: Hip Hop Legend known greatly for his collaborations with emcee CL Smooth (Pete Rock and CL Smooth) releases his first solo album since 2004. This album features songs with Slum Village, Styles P, Raekwon of WuTang and many other hip hop alum.

Goldfrapp-Seventh Tree UK based duo releases their fourth studio album. You think I’m just telling you about this b/c it’s CD release day – but I actually like their music. As I was preparing to tell you what’s hot and what’s not today – I did a little digging to find some of their music and listened to this whole album. (LOL) Random… but I really like it.

Dolly Parton -Backwoods Barbie Dolly is getting good reviews for this album. Her return to a more classic country as compared to her last three albums that were apparently more blue grass. (smh) I’m only telling you about this b/c I think she’s fabulous – but honestly… Do you think B.Scott listens to Dolly Parton? Can you see me doing the Paw Paw to any of her music? LOL!

And again – clearly you all already know how I feel about these last two albums – so just click on the links and buy them.

Janet Jackson – Discipline
Erykah Badu – New Amerykah
