Rihanna dropped the highly anticipated video for her buzz single “Wait Your Turn” earlier today via her website. While I like the dark theme of the video, I’m not entirely sure what to think about it. It’s definitely going to give people something to talk about….that’s for sure. Earlier today, Ryan Seacrest confirmed the Young Jeezy assisted “So Hard” as being the official second single. He says:

Her second official single “So Hard” featuring rapper Young Jeezy, follows the album’s debut single “Russian Roulette,” a dark ballad which came as a surprise to many fans who expected a high-energy dance track.

In a recent interview, Rihanna finally opened up to Glamour magazine about everything from her new album and image, to domestic violence.

Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.

Britney Spears just premiered her brand new video for “3″ on her Twitter page and let me tell you that it’s hot! The super sexy video accompanies the hot-like-fire lead single from The Singles Collection, which is a compilation of Brit’s greatest hits (due out November 24th). She looks absolutely radiant in this video and the choreography is definitely a step from from what we’ve been seeing…but it still isn’t 100% Britney. Not to mention, she still relies heavily on her backup dancers to do the more complicated steps. Come on Brit-Brit! You’re almost there…

It’s predicted to see only between 20k to 25k units within it’s first week, despite the releative success of his lead single “Break Up”. The Black Eyed Peas wasted no time getting this video out. As soon as their previous single “I Got A Feeling” dipped from #1 on the Billboard charts (after sitting at the top for 14 weeks) they released the video for “Meet Me Halfway.” I actually love everything about this video. Fergie looks great, the storyline is great, and I can tell that they really put a lot of effort into this video as well as their single choice. The long awaited video for Mary J’s “The One” premiered yesterday. I hadn’t realized there wasn’t a video yet because the song has been doing so well without it. The only real promotion the song has had thus far is the AT&T commercial that seems to play every five minutes. But, I’m not mad at her! Get that money Mary! The long awaited video for Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” premiered overnight. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the video just yet. I feel like I keep waiting for something big to happen, but all I’m getting is a bunch of performance shots of the gang in anticipation. The song has grown on me, but I may need to watch the video a few more times for me to actually like it the way I want to. Visually, I think the video looks amazing, but conceptually, I was hoping for something more…epic. Rihanna looks stunning as usual and it’s nice to see her working again.

The video finished filming last night so we can expect to see it soon, which is great because these pictures are making me really excited to see the final outcome. Jay-Z, Kanye, and Rihanna will be performing “Run This Town” on The Jay Leno Show on September 14th, three days after Jay’s Blueprint 3 album drops. This will be Rihanna’s first performance since “we all know what happened” happened. I’m sure she’ll knock em’ dead.

Mariah Carey’s performance of “Obsessed” for the results show of America’s Got Talent aired on on NBC last night! As you all know I love myself some Mimi so I’m going to spare you the details about how much I love her but I will however highlight that she’s literally glowing with happiness. Whatever Nick is doing, it’s obviously working! In other Mariah news, “Obsessed” rises to #14 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Mariah Carey makes her 29th appearance on the Pop Songs/Mainstream Top 40 radio chart as “Obsessed” debuts at No. 39. The arrival extends her lead for the most overall chart entries in the tally’s nearly 17-year history. Go Mimi!

F.B.D. Maxwell’s new video for “Bad Habits” premiered earlier today. There’s not much else I can say besides the fact that he looks delicious. “Bad Habits” is the second single from Maxwell’s BLACKsummer’snight album which currently sits at #3 on the Billboard charts. I’m really glad his comeback was a success, because we really need true musicians back on the scene.

Shakira’s new video for “She Wolf” made its way onto the internet just a few hours before it’s scheduled to premiere tonight on MTV. All I have to say is that hands down, Shakira has the best body in the business. I’m literally in awe at the way she moves. I thought Ciara’s cage dance was great, but Shakira takes it to an entirely new level. This is pretty different for her and I can’t say that I’ve ever seen her with backup dancers in a video before. She said herself that her new album will be dance heavy and will have a lot of electro/house influences, which is nice. Even though this song is somewhat of a departure from her previous music, it still has that Shakira signature sound and I absolutely love it.

His vocals are near flawless and the ending harmonies are absolutely divine! It’s one of the best tribute songs I’ve heard yet. Mariah Carey looks absolutely divine on the set of her new video for “Obsessed”! The diva has hired top-notch director Brett Ratner, who is responsible for many of her hottest videos, including “We Belong Together”, “Heartbreaker”, “Touch My Body”and “It’s Like That”. The first day of shooting was held behind closed doors on the fourth floor of The Plaza Hotel in New York City. The overall concept of the video is a secret, and there are reportedly “many surprises” that Mariah’s camp doesn’t want to reveal just yet. Ciara shared a 19 second sneak peek of her new video for “Work”, which serves as one of the next two singles from Fantasy Ride (the other being “Like A Surgeon”. The video looks promising and I can’t wait to see Ciara dance again. I’ll reserve my full judgement for when I see the full video which is currently rumored to premiere on June 16th.

Also, check out “Tic Toc”, the latest unreleased song to leak from Ciara’s Fantasy Ride recording sessions. I can easily see why this song was left off of the album and didn’t serve as a bonus track. It’s somewhat similar to “When I”, which was an iTunes bonus track, but not as good.

Check out the final version of Kanye West’s new music video “Paranoid” featuring the lovely Rihanna. This version has a few extra scenes and added visual effects, but the simple changes makes the video SO much better than the previous version. I love the dark, spooky feel of the video. It sort of reminds me of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” with a touch of the movie Wolf.

The Black Eyed Peas debuted their brand new video for the second single off of The E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies). “I Gotta Feeling” is an okay song, and the video captures the mood of the song quite nicely. Also, Fergie’s body looks amazing – this is the best she’s looked in a while. With that said, the song still isn’t as hot as some of the other tracks from the album. The E.N.D. is a non-stop party record that keeps you moving from start to finish and I must say that I throughly enjoy it.

This video takes the form of a mini-movie as we see Lady Gaga go from pop royalty to prison inmate in less than 8 minutes. This isn’t just a video, this is a work of art! From the outrageous avant-garde costumes to very quirky and imaginative choreography, Lady Gaga has done a fabulous job and given us something totally different than anything that’s out right now.

According to several of our sources rapper Roderick Anthony Burton II (born November 25, 1987) better known by his stage name Dolla, was fatally shot at the entrance to the Beverly Center mall this afternoon, and police were searching for two suspects. Our sources close to the situation believe the shooting stemmed from an initial altercation in Atlanta, GA. No official word has been confirmed on the motive.

The shooting occurred just after 3 p.m. at the La Cienega Boulevard entrance to the popular Westside shopping center. All entrances and exits to the popular Westside shopping mall were sealed off as police swarmed the scene. LAPD officials said that officers were sent to the mall on a report of a group fight, possibly involving a knife. LAPD Sgt. Ronnie Crump said two suspects ran in the direction of Beverly Hills. At a Chipotle restaurant in the mall, several people were eating when the shots rang out. “The customers were yelling ‘close the store, close the store, because somebody is shooting,’ ” said Elsa Hernandez, general manager of the restaurant. An employee who was behind the restaurant, near the mall’s valet parking service, saw the tail end of the dispute, Hernandez said. “He saw a lady … shooting a handgun,” Hernandez said. latimes.com

{Updated at 5:15 p.m.: Police have arrested one “person of interest” in connection with the shooting but were looking for a second suspect.]
