The Black Eyed Peas are not playing this time around. Here’s another song off of their highly anticipated album The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies). “Imma Be” isn’t the official second single, but that only means that the second single (recently confirmed to be “I Got A Feeling”) has got to be even hotter than this. I don’t know about you guys, but I think this may be one of the hottest hip-hop albums of the summer!

How do you feel about the song?

Jennifer LopezOne Love
It looks like J. Lo is getting ready to release some new material. I’m not sure what this is for or why it’s leaking now. The rumor is that it may be included on her upcoming greatest hits album. All I know is that Jenny decided to hop on the never ending auto-tune train. The song is nice, but that’s about it. Link1/Link2

TyreseTake Me Away
Tyrese has one of the best voices in the R&B game, so I don’t understand why he lowered his standards and did the auto-tune thing as well. Supposedly this is going to be the first single from his latest project. This watered-down sorry excuse for a R&B/Pop song should have never seen the light of day, in my opinion. I know some of you are Tyrese fans, so let me know how you feel about Ty’s “new” direction. After the failure of Alter Ego, I think he should just stick to the sexy R&B joints that brought him fame in the first place. No more gimmicks please! Link1/Link2

New Music: Keke Palmer – Edit (You Out of My Life)

OUT21478568

The young, beautiful, and talented Keke Palmer is currently working on her sophomore album. She recently parted ways with her former label, Atlantic Records, for lack of promotion for her first album So Uncool. Below is a new snippet of a track called “Edit (You Out of My Life) “. I love the song and I really appreciate the fact that Keke is going for a more mature sound, while staying within the context of being a good role model and a lady. She’s showing us that growing up doesn’t necessarily mean ’sexing up’ your image. Keke has plans on announcing her new label later this summer.

Listen to “Edit” below, and be sure to check out Keke on Nickelodeon’s hit show, True Jackson, VP on Saturdays at 8:30pm EST!

May 12, 2009 Jam It? Or Slam It? Amerie – Why R U

amerie-promo-2009-051209-1

Love muffins, this super duper hot Amerie track just hit the net! Amerie confirmed via Twitter earlier this week that her single, “Why R U” would drop soon and here it is! Her first album to be released on Def Jam, In Love & War, is scheduled for release around late summer/early fall and features production from Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, Jim Jonsin, Bryan Michael Cox, and more. Even though her last album, Because I Love It didn’t do so well here in the US, I’m rooting for Amerie and I hope she has success with this album.

Are you feeling the song? Let me know!

May 11, 2009 New Music: Jordin Sparks – Battlefield

jordin-sparks-fight-night-0328092

The fabulous Jordin Sparks is ready to release her sophomore album this July. “Battlefield” is set to be the lead single off of this latest, yet-to-be-titled project, produced by super-talented Ryan Tedder. The song is a contemporary pop ballad that’s full of emotion, really showcasing Jordin’s powerhouse vocals. Tedder did an amazing job with the production, and of course the beat is laced with his signature sound — think Beyonce’s “Halo” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone.” With proper promotion, this song should do very well. Wyclef ft. Shakira JeanThe Border
I love myself some Shakira. This Timbaland produced track is rumored to be a left-over from previous recording sessions, but I can’t help but think otherwise. It’s so different from anything that Wyclef or Shakira has released and it has a very current sound. Unfortunately it’s tagged, but be sure to check out the community over the next few days for the untagged version. Also, be on the lookout for Shakira’s album to drop later this year! Link1/Link2

KeshaBackstabber
You may recognize Kesha (aka Ke$ha) as the guest singer on Flo-Rida’s hit single “Right Round.” Many of you probably don’t know that she’s done background vocals for a lot of today’s pop artists including Britney Spears and The Veronicas (she even co-wrote their song “This Love”). She’s teamed up with noted producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin for her debut album that doesn’t quite have a release date yet. Backstabber hasn’t been confirmed as a single, but I think it would be a good move. It’s fun, kinda quirky, and I really like the production. With two of her songs already being featured on The Hills, it’ll be interesting to see whether she can hold her own and stay relevant as a solo act. Link1/Link2
