January 8, 2007 Beyonce and Shakira…Muy Caliente

Beyonce and Shakira

Let the hip shaking begin! Beyonce just reported to Univision that for the re-release of her album B’Day she will be doing a duet with Shakira entitled “Beautiful Liar”. This song is half-English and half-Spanish and was originally recorded as a solo track but B felt that Shakira could add some much needed spice to the track. If these two girls ever do a video together they will likely need two TV screen to contain all that booty. I just can’t wait. The re-release of the B’Day will also include Spanish versions of “Deja Vu”, “Ring the Alarm”, “Irreplacable”, and a remix to “Upgrade U” featuring TI.

January 7, 2007 2007 Music Predictions

Nicole Scherzinger

Nichole Scherzinger: Once the kittens are left behind, we’ll all get a chance to see the real Pussycat Doll. She’s got all the ingredients: she’s drop dead gorgeous, got legs for days, and a solid voice to carry a pop tune. After working with heavy-hitting producers Timberland and Will.I.Am (Watch your back Fergie!) there is no doubt she’s going to be a major force in music this year.

Britney Spears: Dare I Say It. I know that with all of her recent troubles, the idea of Brit-Brit dropping a hot album is the last thing on most people’s mind but I’m trying to hold out hope. Immediately after the announcement of the divorce it seemed like the world was on her side but somehow we all lost faith. In the end, everyone loves a great comeback. Let’s hope she can give it to us!.

Maroon 5: Adam Levine and the boys are returning with their soulful rock sounds for their sophomore album. The CD is confusingly titled It Won’t Be Soon Before Long and the lead off single, Wake Up Call, utilizes the same winning formula that got them their success. Sources say the album is hot and going to bring them back into the spotlight.

Whitney Houston: Everyone keep your fingers crossed. Houston has had her share of difficulties in the past few years but a lot has changed recently. I hope that after her recent stint in rehab and the return of Clive Davis to helm of her career Houston will resurrect as the DIVA we all know and love.

- Others: Mariah Carey, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Avril Livigne, Brandy, Joss Stone, Usher
