January 27, 2007 Justin Timberlake & Nelly Furtado Team Up For DISS TRACK!!!

Justin Making Fun Of Prince

I know this song has been out for a while but the new HQ version of the song just surfaced so I wanted to post it. For those of you who don’t know, Timberland, Nelly Furtado, and Justin Timberlake collaborated on a song for Timbaland’s new album Shock Value.

In the song, they each take turns dissing their respective haters. Nelly is rumored to be talking about Fergie, who reportedly altered much of her album at the last minute to fit the style of Nelly’s #1 hit “Promiscuous”. Timbaland disses his former piano player and protégé, Scott Storch, who has since gone on to become a successful producer. JT’s verse takes a major jab at none other than the petite purple-one, Prince.

Timbaland, Justin, and Nelly

I’ll fill you in. Back when “SexyBack” was taking over the radio, Prince yelled to a sold out crowd at one of his concerts, “For whoever is claiming that they are bringing sexy back, sexy never left!” This didn’t sit well with the Justin, who has long emulated and looked up to the diminutive popstar. In this song JT finally responded to the comment… by saying “If sexy never left, then why is everybody on my shit? Don’t hate on me just because you didn’t come up with it.” DAMN!

Listen to the song and judge for yourself. Enjoy!

January 24, 2007 Are You Ready For This Dragon?

sisqo4.jpg

Sisqo’s coming BACK everybody! Where has he been, you ask? It’s possible that he’s been trolling the darkest corners of America’s bathhouses, but he’s also been working on an album. I don’t know if I’m ready! His hair may have been the color of a disco ball when we last saw him, but don’t let that deter you from giving him a second chance. There’s something about this come back that I think may work for him! Maybe…Here are a couple tracks from The Last Dragon. Judge for yourself!

Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

Now Fox B. has been through A LOT! She’s been on probation, attended anger management classes, went deaf, went un-deaf, got a good progress report after probation. Whew! Not too long ago she had beef with Ashy & Egypt from NYC’s Power 105.1 radio station that led to her exiting the studio before the interview was even over. Hot ass mess. But here’s a leaky poo of a new track from Foxy Brown! 2007 is about a lot of things, and I guess the big comeback is one of those. Her new album’s called Black Roses, and this could be THE time for a strong female hip hop artist to do it big.

January 23, 2007 Spotlight: Lily Allen

Lily Allen

Many have been asking about the song “Smile” by Lily Allen, so I decided to shine a little light on this brilliant new artist. Allen is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter from the UK who’s already had great success in her homeland but is venturing across the pond to tackle the US market. She has a lovable, quirky style that is simply INFECTIOUS. I fell in love with the cheerful melody of “Smile” the instant I heard it, but it was only after a couple of listens that I realized the subject of the lyrics is actually quite dark and twisted. All in all, I’m loving Lily Allen right now and will be first in line to get the new album on January 30. Hope you will too!
