It looks as though Robin Thicke is ditching his usual soul sound for more of a commercial hip-hop sound with this next album. “Shakin’ It For Daddy” (featuring Nicki Minaj) is set to be the second single from his upcoming Sex Therapy album. “Meiplé (Me I Play)” is another cut off the album that premiered on NYC’s Hot 97 radio station yesterday. Sex Therapy is set for release on December 15th.

Shakira is releasing the US version of her new album She Wolf on November 23rd and she’s including a few extra tracks for us. “Did It Again” was originally supposed to be her second US single, but now it’s the second international single and the Timbaland & Lil Wayne assisted “Give It Up To Me” is in its place. This remix featuring Kid Cudi is a bonus track from the US edition of the album. I like the song, but I wish they would have left the original beat intact.

I know it seems like Rihanna overload, but she is really hitting us something serious with this music. The new track, “So Hard”, was just premiered on NYC’s Hot 97 radio station. I think the song is fire! She is really coming with these hard-hitting anthems! Not to mention, Tricky Stewart & The Dream did the damn thing with this production. UPDATE #2: A new unreleased track called “Bubble Pop” has been added after the jump. Apparently the track was left over from Good Girl Gone Bad and will.i.am. is responsible for the production.

UPDATE: After listening to the song a few times I’ve decided that I really like it. I love the Rihanna’s delivery and her attitude throughout the entire track. I also really appreciate how she went back to her roots with the Bajan accent. I’m super duper excited for Rated R.

Rihanna wasted no time hitting us with a second single. “Wait Your Turn (The Wait Is Ova)” is a completely different offering from RiRi. I like it…I’m not sure I love it…but it’s a nice track. I prefer “Russian Roulette”.

UPDATE: Another new track from Ush called “Blockin” has been added for your listening pleasure!

Somebody may be in trouble this morning after two new tracks from Usher found their way to the internet. “More” is another catchy club hit produced by Red One (which sounds very similar to their previous record), while “Daddy’s Home” is a sexy, smooth, R&B track produced by The Runners. Both of these tracks give us different offerings from Usher, so I’m left wondering what the final direction of the album will be. Not to mention, both of these tracks are miles better than “Papers,” which has been confirmed as a buzz single. Raymond Vs Raymond hits stores December 8th!

Alicia Keys is set to drop her new studio album, The Element of Freedom, on December 15th. The project’s first single “Doesn’t Mean Anything” isn’t performing as well as most of us would have expected, so it’s only fitting that we now have the second single from the project. “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart” is another mellow jam & I actually like this one a bit more than the first single. After being somewhat underwhelmed by “Papers”, I’m pleased to say that this new track to surface from Ush has turned my attention back his upcoming album Raymond Vs Raymond. It’s not often we hear Usher doing a pop-influenced track, but Red One is obviously the producer of the moment so of course Usher would go ahead and get his track. It has signature Red One production (hard continuous bass-line & lots of chaotic synths), but Usher’s voice sounds really good and does a good job of not getting lost in the music.

“The Wait Is Ova” as Rihanna’s new single premiered just a few moments ago! “Russian Roulette” was written by Ne-Yo and it serves as the lead single from her upcoming album which is officially titled Rated R and is scheduled for release on November 23rd! I think the song is a certified hit! Rihanna’s vocals sound amazing…miles better than anything I’ve heard from her to date. The song itself has somewhat of an epic feel to it that’s hard to describe. Here we have the finished, finalized, version of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” An unfinished version has been floating around for a few weeks now and I wasn’t too thrilled with it, but Lady Gaga assured us that the final version would be much better. Well, she lied! It still has Red One’s typical, stale, production and it sounds like a rehashed version of “Pokerface.” This makes me question what exactly she’s going for on this re-release because I was under the impression that the new songs were going to be really different. If they are, then the label is trying to play it safe and keep it radio friendly with this poor single choice.

Last week we were given a small taste of what to expect from Alicia Keys’ brand new video for “Doesn’t Mean Anything”, and I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect other than that she would look absolutely stunning. Alicia hit us with another simple, yet sophisticated video that doesn’t draw too much attention from the song itself. It’s not my favorite video, but hopefully this P. R. Brown directed clip can give her single a boost on the charts.

Seems like things are really coming together for JoJo. She announced earlier this week that her label has reached a distribution deal with Interscope to distribute her new album, All I Want Is Everything! This is great news coming from an artist with such great material. The latest track to leak was produced by Harvey Mason & Oak and it’s a nice mid-tempo jam. JoJo’s vocals are near flawless as usual and she glides effortlessly over the production, even with the synthesized harmonies. The track kind of reminds me a bit of the song “25 to Life,” which she previously recorded. Now that we have all these promising tracks, all we need is a release date for the album. Come on JoJo!

Timbaland’s highly anticipated Shock Value 2 is set to drop on November 24th, the same day as Shakira’s She Wolf is scheduled to hit stores. I’m not sure if this is set to be the lead single from Tim’s project, but I think it wouldn’t be a bad look for either one of them. Shakira’s vocals sound great over urban beats, and Timbaland’s production is consistent as usual. Lil Wayne’s feature is okay…but it’s typical Weezy.

The Stargate produced “Never Knew I Needed” is rumored to be featured on the soundtrack to Disney’s new movie The Princess & the Frog. The movie will feature Disney’s first African American princess, Tiana. If this is true, then I think it’s a great honor that Ne-Yo’s music is featured as a part of such a historic movie. The Princess & The Frog opens nationwide on December 11th, 2009!

Michael’s This Is It movie is still a few weeks away, but we now have the lead single from the documentary soundtrack. “This Is It” was recorded in 1991 for the Dangerous album, but it was never completed nor released. The track was completed with background vocals from his brothers. The song isn’t outstanding, but what I like about the song is that it’s pure, organic, Michael. Check out the track after the jump!

I told you all the other day about Mariah releasing Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel as a remix album and now we have the first offering from the project. The remix features OJ Da Juiceman, Gucci Mane, & Big Boi and heavily samples Ghost Town DJ’s “My Boo.” I like the fact that the remix is essentially an entirely different song, not just a few added vocals or guest rappers. This way I can love the original and the remix for completely different reasons!

Jennifer Lopez is returning to the music scene after the dismal sales of her last album, Brave. This time Jenny is not playing around! It seems as though she’s hopping on the ‘alter ego’ craze by releasing this under the name “Lola”. “Fresh Out The Oven” was produced by The Neptunes and it’s straight fire! Pharrell took it back to his roots and laced us with old-school Neptunes production that compliments Jennifer’s (or Lola’s) weak vocals quite nicely. Pitbull’s feature is a nice touch as well. The song is believed to be the lead from her upcoming project which features production from Jim Jonsin, Stargate, Rock City, Danja, Red One, and Darkchild.

Usher premiered his new single from his forthcoming album Raymond vs. Raymond (orginally titled ‘Monster’) called “Papers,” written by Sean Garrett. Naturally, he’s milking his divorce with Tameka Foster for everything it’s worth…but hey, I guess you gotta do what you gotta to do to sell records these days. Although, I am curious as to what all will be revealed in the months to come. As far as the track, I’m not sure if it’s a hit or not…it sounds more like an album filler to me. Raymond Vs. When news broke out that Mariah was working with super producer Timbaland for MOIA the lambs went crazy with excitement only to find out that the Timbaland track didn’t make the final cut. Thanks to Tapemasters Inc., we now have the Timbaland produced banger! “Skydiving” is pretty laid back track with Timbalands signature drum-heavy production. I think it could have been a nice bonus track for MOIA.

Rapper Big Boi of Outkast is preparing to release a new solo album entitled Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty and now we have a track rumored to be included on the project called “For Yo’ Sorrows”. I really like the quirky production on this track….it’s very reminiscent of a few Outkast tracks. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not, because it makes me feel like André 3000 is missing from the song and I shouldn’t feel that way if Big Boi is trying to go solo. In any case, it’s a great, fun, song that’s worth a listen.

It seems as though Joss Stone has gotten her label situation worked out as she just dropped a brand new single entitled “Free Me.” I actually really like this record, but I can’t seem to give it the amount of play it needs because the only think coming out of my speakers right now is Memoirs…. In any case, I think Joss is going to have success with this record because its vintage throwback feel is certainly unmatched right now considering what all is being played on the radio.

I honestly have no idea what’s going on with Jojo’s album. She recently filed a lawsuit against her label asking for $500,000 and to be released from her contract due to the fact that her label can’t seem to get their stuff together so she can release her seriously delayed All I Want Is Everything album. Anyways, a brand new track surfaced online called “You Take Me (Around The World)” and it samples Daft Punk’s “Around The World.” I absolutely love this song. I don’t know why Jojo is still so underrated because she’s super duper talented.

This is the second release from Madonna’s upcoming greatest hits compilation, Celebration. The double disc feature has 36 songs, all remastered versions of her old hits & a few new tracks. “Revolver” sounds too much like Britney’s “Radar” for my liking, and Lil Wayne doesn’t really add too much to the track. About 4 demos of the track have leaked over the last year or so and the final version isn’t much better. In all honesty, I can’t say that I’m really feeling this song.

First, Janet Jackson comes out and delivers one of the best performances I’ve seen in a long time, and now she has given us a gift! “Make Me” was just released via her website when you sign up for her newsletter. Her VMA MJ tribute performance reminded me how much I love Janet and how much I’m anticipating her next project. What better time to drop a new song? I absolutely love this song…it’s classic Janet at her finest! Doesn’t this song just make you feel good? It looks like I’ll be up all night getting my shimmy and shake on!

Last week, Mariah’s 2nd single “I Want To Know What Love Is” leaked in poor sound quality. Today the final, mastered version of the song hit the net. There aren’t any major differences, however the song as a whole sounds a lot better. You can really hear the vocal details and things of that nature that really make the song great.

In other Mariah news, Mimi is scheduled to perform live on Oprah on Friday, September 18th! There will not only be an interview, but there will also be a performance of new material from Memoirs…. You know that yours truly will indeed be watching.

I know it’s going to be a good day when a new Brandy track surfaces. “Bet You Didn’t Know” was produced by Stargate and may be from new recording sessions as she’s already stated numerous times that she’s hard at work on her next studio album which doesn’t have a set release date. I’m thinking early 2010, but nothing’s been confirmed. Don’t quote me, because this could also be a left-over from her Human recording sessions. I also just learned that Megan Rochelle recorded this song back in 2007, so I don’t really know what to think about it. Either way it’s a great track!

Mariah’s official first single was set to premiere later this week, but lucky for us it leaked early! “I Want to Know What Love Is” is a remake of the 80s classic originally performed by Foreigner. I knew that when it was time for Mimi to bring it that she would come and shut it down! She is singing her ass off. Period. Everything that Mariah has to offer is beautifully crafted into this song. The song has been described as a “powerhouse ballad” and I have to admit that I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect, but this blew me away. I can’t wait to hear this live because I know that she is going to bring it!

After departing from his longtime label home, The Inc., Lloyd is currently working on a new album. His new single “Pusha” is a smooth R&B track produced by The Runners. The “love is a drug” reference is getting a bit stale, but other than that I really like this song. I’m not sure what it is, but after the first few listens I instantly became hooked. His last album, Lessons in Love, debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 chart, but since then has failed to perform and has yet to even be certified gold. Hopefully he sees more success with this record because Lloyd actually makes really solid R&B music. Adrienne Bailon (formerly of 3LW and The Cheetah Girls) has been pursuing a solo career for quite some time now and after signing with Def Jam earlier this year we finally get to see what exactly Adrienne has to offer. “Superbad “is slated to be Adrienne’s first official single off of her forthcoming album. It’s pretty decent. I’m not sure exactly what to expect from her because all of her past efforts are completely different. The song’s good enough that with a good video and proper promotion it should do pretty well. After recently signing to Lil Wayne’s Young Money label, Omarion is ready to drop his first album with his new label home. “Get It In” is supposedly the first single from his upcoming album and it features Lil Wayne. The beat knocks, but Omarion’s flow throws me off. He should stick to singing because this whole attempt at rapping isn’t working for me. Even though he’s not the most talented singer, in my opinion his singing sounds a hell of a lot better than this. I will say that it leaves me curious as to what direction he’s going in with this next project.

Whitney Houston’s official 1st single, “Million Dollar Bill,” is set to impact tomorrow (August 7th), but lucky for us it leaked a day early. There have been a few looped snippets floating around, but I have for you the official CDQ version. It was penned by Alicia Keys & produced by Alicia’s boyfriend, Swizz Beats. It has an old school feel and shows off a bit more of Whitney’s vocals and she sounds good! Alicia did a great job writing this track. I can already hear this being played at cookouts and family reunions everywhere. Whitney’s album, I Look To You will be in stores August 31st!

Okay muffins, I really need some feedback on this one. A few days ago a new Eve track called “Me N My (Up In The Club” surfaced that’s believed to be included on her forever delayed Flirt album (which is due out later in the year). She said herself that the album would be different, but to use the term ‘different’ to describe this track would be an understatement! Eve went in an entirely new direction with this song and I’m not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, I can’t stop playing it & on the other hand, the song is so bizarre I can’t exactly get into it the way I want to. It doesn’t really have definitive verses nor does it have a definitive hook, thanks to production from Salaam Remi and Benga da Afro Warrior. The song is just kinda all over the place. I applaud Eve for stepping outside the box, but I think need something just a little more urban from her.

This song is straight fire! If you listen to anything today, make sure it’s this. I honestly didn’t think Amerie had it in her. This sounds incredibly different from anything that’s out right now and if I hadn’t known any better, I wouldn’t have known it was even Amerie’s song. It is the confirmed second single from her upcoming In Love & War album and it is scheduled to impact radio next week. Either the song going to do really well, or people aren’t going to know how to handle it and it’ll flop horribly. Only time will tell, but this is certainly going to the top of my playlist!

Can I just say how wonderful it is to hear Queen La rapping again? I think it’s great that she’s returning to her hip-hop roots for this next album. This song takes me back to the early 90s and having Mary jump on the track was a very wise decision because she fits this song perfectly. This definitely gets me excited for Queen Latifiah’s Persona album.

Celebration, is the title track and lead single from Madonna’s upcoming greatest hits collection. It was produced by DJ Paul Oakenfold and is set to hit radio on August 3rd. I personally like the track, even thought it’s somewhat less urban than what she’s been been doing lately. It’s very old-school Madonna, similar to some of the stuff she did back in the 90s. Madonna’s one of those people who’s been in the game long enough to where she can do whatever the heck she wants to do and it’ll be great.

David Guetta’s “When Love Takes Over” has taken over the dance world and is probably one of the biggest surprise hits of the summer. Now he’s back and this time he enlisted the help of Akon to deliver a sexy, fun, dance track called “Sexy Bitch”. Get ready to shimmy & shake all over the place because this song will definitely make you wanna dance. Akon’s vocals fit the song quite nicely and David Guetta’s electronic beat hits in all the right places. With this and the Kelly Rowland track, I think David Guetta may indeed have a hot album on his hands. Only time will tell…

Jay-Z debuted his new single “Run This Town” from his upcoming Blueprint 3 album earlier today and it features the amazing Kanye West & Rihanna. This is a much better offering then the D.O.A. “buzz track” that was released a few weeks ago. Rihanna sounds great on the record and it’s so good to hear her doing music again. Kanye’s verse goes hard as well…except I could do without the “no homo” line. C’mon Kanye…I need for you to do better. The track isn’t outstanding by any means, but having such huge names on the record will definitely help it’s sales.

Monica’s brand new single from her upcoming Still Standing album leaked not too long ago and I’m having mixed emotions about it. While I love the old-school vibe I get from the song, I’m just not sure if this is the right single choice. Her vocals are flawless and Missy’s flow is nice, but I’m just not sure how I feel about the song as a whole. It’s different than anything on urban radio right now, that’s for sure.

Ne-Yo – Don’t Worry About It: With a new track from Ne-Yo leaking almost every day, it’s almost impossible to keep up. While most of them are pretty average R&B tracks, every so often one stands out and deserves to be posted. This uptempo track finds Ne-Yo singing about spending the night on the dance-floor. We know Ne-Yo isn’t the most polished dancer, but that’s okay! It’s just nice to hear Ne-Yo on something uptempo for once.

R&B singer Joe is back with a brand new album. Signature is his eighth studio album, but his second album released on an independent label. Despite not having much commercial success these days, you can always expect quality R&B from Joe. His fans won’t be disappointed with this album because as a seasoned veteran in the R&B game, he managed to write, produce, and arrange every track that’s featured. The lead single from the project, Majic peaked at #57 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
