Toni Braxton’s seriously delayed album, Pulse, is now scheduled for a February 2010 release. “Yesterday” is slated to be the lead single from the project, despite previous reports. I’m not sure if I like the song just yet. It reminds me of the majority of Beyoncé’s I Am… album. I was hoping for Toni to come back with some fresh R&B similar to what she did back in the 90s. I guess she’s going for more of a mainstream sound.

After months of anticipation and much hype from Diddy, we finally get to hear some music from his new project. Last Train to Paris will be released at the top of 2010, and features vocals from his new group, Dirty Money. DM consists of himself, Dawn Richard, and newcomer Kaleena. “Love Come Down” is a hard-hitting club banger which finds Kaleena and Dawn taking the majority of the vocals. “Angels” is a nice mid-tempo that features the late Notorious B.I.G. I never thought I would say this, but Diddy singing (although auto-tune enhanced) doesn’t sound that bad. Now I’m even more curious as to what the rest of the album sounds like.

Adrienne Bailon (formerly of 3LW and The Cheetah Girls) has been pursuing a solo career for quite some time now and after signing with Def Jam earlier this year we finally get to see what exactly Adrienne has to offer. “Superbad “is slated to be Adrienne’s first official single off of her forthcoming album. It’s pretty decent. I’m not sure exactly what to expect from her because all of her past efforts are completely different. The song’s good enough that with a good video and proper promotion it should do pretty well. UPDATE: Rumor has it that Omarion has been dropped from Young Money after leaking his own record. Damn.

After recently signing to Lil Wayne’s Young Money label, Omarion is ready to drop his first album with his new label home. “Get It In” is supposedly the first single from his upcoming album and it features Lil Wayne. The beat knocks, but Omarion’s flow throws me off. He should stick to singing because this whole attempt at rapping isn’t working for me. Even though he’s not the most talented singer, in my opinion his singing sounds a hell of a lot better than this. I will say that it leaves me curious as to what direction he’s going in with this next project.

Okay muffins, I really need some feedback on this one. A few days ago a new Eve track called “Me N My (Up In The Club” surfaced that’s believed to be included on her forever delayed Flirt album (which is due out later in the year). She said herself that the album would be different, but to use the term ‘different’ to describe this track would be an understatement! Eve went in an entirely new direction with this song and I’m not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, I can’t stop playing it & on the other hand, the song is so bizarre I can’t exactly get into it the way I want to. It doesn’t really have definitive verses nor does it have a definitive hook, thanks to production from Salaam Remi and Benga da Afro Warrior. The song is just kinda all over the place. I applaud Eve for stepping outside the box, but I think need something just a little more urban from her.

Things are finally starting to come together for Miss Aubrey O’Day. Her reality show is still on schedule for this fall, she’s doing a few burlesque shows with Peepshow in Las Vegas, and of course she’s working on her solo album. This is really the first time we’ve heard Aubrey on a solo track since being released from Danity Kane earlier this year. “Party All The Time” is a re-make of the classic 80s hit (previously sang by Eddie Murphy) and it features Shanell Woodgett (aka SnL), who happens to be the sister of other ex-Danity Kane member D. Woods. Rumor has it that this may in fact be the theme song for her upcoming MTV reality show. I forgot Aubrey could actually sing, which is sad because underneath all of her over the top, attention-seeking antics is a talented girl.

Jay-Z has finally decided to drop something from his highly anticipated The Blueprint 3 album (which is due out September 11th). “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” is Hova’s return to music after the super success of his last album, The Blueprint 2. I agree that auto-tune needs to go…but I think that if it’s going to go away, it needs to be replaced with something hot! To me, this isn’t that hot. I can’t say that I’m feeling this song too much and I’m slightly disappointed because I expected him to come so much harder than this.

Paula Abdul is back! Her brand new song, “Here for the Music” is set to be the lead single from her currently untitled album that’s scheduled for a Fall ‘09 release. If the song sounds familiar, it’s because the super fabulous Kylie Minogue previously recorded the track, but never released it. Paula performed the song for the first time this past Wednesday on American Idol and let me tell you, she rocked it! Even though the performance was lip-synched and the choreography was a bit dated, she was still totally on point! She looked amazing, her choreography was super energetic with lots of backup dancers, and this was definitely a great start to Paula’s comeback!

The legendary Queen Latifah (also known as Dana Owens) is back in the studio recording for her 7th album, Persona. Her last project, Trav’lin’ Light, was a wonderful collection of classic jazz standards and earned the Queen two Grammy nominations. If this new song is any indication of where Miss Owens is headed musically, then we’re definitely in for a surprise.

Queen Latifah takes us to the dance floor with this newly leaked track called “Chains.” With its beat driven sound accompanied by rock-influenced electric guitar riffs, this is by far something I would have never expected from her.

A new track off of Lindsay Lohan’s upcoming third studio album surfaced on Tuesday.

“I wrote it for her because when she’s on her game, you can see these traits in her. When she’s focused, she exudes the aura of a boss with ease,” Ne-Yo explains. “When [producer] Stargate and I were approached with the task, we viewed it as a challenge. ‘Can we make a song for Lindsay Lohan that people were gonna take seriously?’ I think we did it.”

Today’s post features a band from Sweden called “The Touch”. Some have called them “the new hope of electronic music.” They also did a unique cover of The Spice Girls megahit “Wannabe” which you can check out here. What I like about a song (and video) like this is that it comes across as raw and full of emotion. Even if you can’t understand the language being sung, the feeling behind it comes through.

As we know first single “Wadsyaname” really didn’t connect with radio or even his fans for that matter, so his album was pushed back. As we know Michelle Williams has finished recording her third studio album which is scheduled for release in early May. This Destiny’s Child member is rumored to have collaborated with Darkchild, Stargate and Timbaland on her upcoming project and recently confirmed through her official MySpace page that her lead single will be “Stop This Car”. In addition to the full version “Stop This Car” that was just sent to me, clips for “Break The Dawn” and “Unexpected” have recently been leaked to the internet as well. Sam Sparro is from Los Angeles but his music is starting to hit hard in the UK. His single “Black & Gold” is sexy, slinky and reminds me of Goldfrapp. His personal style has an 80’s vibe which I am really getting into.

I know it’s hard to tell from just a snippet but do you think we are going to jam or slam this song once we hear the whole thing?

One of my favorite artist out right now, Alicia Keys, said in a recent interview that one of her favorite bands was The Fray. Just by coincidence I ran across her live cover of their hit, “How To Save A Life”, and I wanted to know what my Love Muffins thought of the song. Ashanti is trying to come back. Her first two singles, “Switch” and “Hey Baby”, tanked miserably. Now she’s set to release her new album, The Decleration, in March. “The Way I Love You” is a song that recently leaked I’m really feeling it. I think it’s a return to the catchy songs Ashanti is known for and she’s really trying to upgrade her vocal skills. There’s no word yet on whether or not this will be her first single but I wanted you guys to take a listen and tell me what you think of the song.

Love muffins check out this new buzz single by Island Urban Music artist (signed by Jermaine Dupri) Jason Fox titled “Coffee Girl”, that features Kat Deluna. Does he sound familiar? Well, Foxx released his debut single called “Aunt Jackie” earlier this year, which was featured in JD’s Dunkin Donuts commercial.
