Today’s flashback video is Mazzy Star’s 1994 “Fade Into You”, love muffins push play and allow yourself to just drift away.

Mazzy Star were an American alternative rock band formed in 1989 from the group Opal, a collaboration of guitarist David Roback and bassist Kendra Smith. Smith’s friend Hope Sandoval became the group’s vocalist when Smith left the band. Mazzy Star is probably best known for the song “Fade into You” which brought the band some success in the early to mid 1990s and was the group’s biggest mainstream hit, earning radio and MTV airplay. Roback and Sandoval were the creative center of the band, with Sandoval writing most of the lyrics and Roback composing most of the music. ~ Wikipedia

Some of you may not remember Karen White but she has the voice of an angel and the image to match. This song used to be the jam and she was singing about being a Superwoman before Alicia Keys’ hit. Cassie’s hit “Me & U” caused a frenzy when it hit radio stations from her self-titled debut album worldwide in 2006 causing the single to peak at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Alicia Keys is truly one of the best artists out there right now and she’ll probably be noted as one of the best of our generation. I love this song because her lyrics could not be more on point than this, “What goes around, comes around, what goes up, must come down.” It’s that chick named “Karma” and sometimes she can be a b*tch! September 19, 2008 Flashback Friday: Mariah Carey



Sony is releasing a new Mariah Carey compilation album in the United States in January featuring 18 of her greatest love songs entitled Love Ballads. However, my love muffins the UK and Ireland will get a chance to purchase the album early on October 20th. “My All” the song featured above is on the upcoming album and one of my favorite Mimi songs of all-time! This #1 ballad is from her 1997 Butterfly album that also included such hits as “Honey” and “Breakdown”, enjoy!
