1. Drink This! “The Madeira Eggnog”

Yes, you can have eggnog even in the summertime! Who needs to be confined to the traditional Christmas timetable!

Ingredients:
1 egg
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. milk
2 oz. Madeira
2 oz. brandy
Grated nutmeg

In a saucepan, whisk together 1 egg, sugar and milk; bring to a boil. Add Madeira and brandy. When frothy, pour into a mug and sprinkle with grated nutmeg.

2. Watch This! Deception

Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams star in this film that begins with an introduction at an underground sex club. From there, the mystery unfolds surrounding the case of a missing woman and millions of dollars of stolen money. The combination of these three actors in an dramatic thriller should be enough to keep you on your toes.

3. Wear This! “Fred Perry sneaks”

Fred Perry’s shoe line is hot to trot! If you’re looking for leather and canvas casual sneaks for the summertime, then boys, look no further. The British tennis star brings athletic style to high fashion, and we like it.

4. Hear This! “Duffy—Mercy”

Duffy is a Welsh-born singer belting out the song “Mercy”, complete with her own R&B influenced style. The video feels hot and sweaty and makes you want to dance!

5. Do This! “Rock Out with Chris”

Chris Rock’s in town this weekend doing a number of shows at the Gibson Amphitheatre for his “No Apologies” tour. Get tickets, if you can, for tonight or tomorrow night as he’ll be gone by Sunday! What’s your favorite Chris Rock bit? Check out one of ours:

It’s the classic drink of Brazil, and you can easily make it at home.

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons granulated sugar
4 Key limes, halved and seeded, or 2 small, juicy limes, quartered
2 ounces cachaça

(Serve straight up or on the rocks!)

This is the weekend where the next Judd Apatow film reaches theaters. It looks like another crazy comedy sure to keep you laughing all the way through. And you know there’s a rather long, drawn out full frontal nude scene with the film’s star, Jason Segel? Look for it in a theater near you.

3. Wear This! “Dooney & Bourke ’s – Chiara Tote”

Note: All totes don’t have to be monstrous creations.

Dooney & Bourke have introduced their Chiara tote—a bag smaller than its predecessors. You’ll have to cut down on the items you carry from home to work and beyond, but it’s worth it!

I just love the featured Chiara tote in white, I know it’s not a practical color for a tote but who really wants to be practical!

I say why not have a super duper bright tote to blind people as you hit through the streets as Mimi would say “Migrate” to your next destination!

4. Hear This! DJ Green Lantern—I’m So Fly ft. Akon, Fabolous & Fat Joe

Hot like fire, DJ Green, Lantern has teamed up with Akon, Fabolous and Fat Joe for this song “I’m So Fly”. It looks like we’re really about to see the behind the scenes are going to start stepping up and dropping singles.

5. Do This! “Celebrate the Earth”

Next Tuesday is Earth Day, but the party for our planet starts this weekend. Check out Earth Day Jam 2008 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum this Saturday, April 19 at 4:00 pm. It’s going on all across the country on different days for the entire month of April, so you can still find the party near you.

1. Drink This! “POM TeaTini”

Ingredients:

* 1 1/2 oz. Pomegranate Blackberry POM Tea
* 1 1/2 oz. citrus vodka
* 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice

Garnish: lemon peel

Directions: 1. Shake all ingredients well with ice and strain into chilled martini glass. 2. Garnish with a lemon peel.

You can have carrot cake on a plate, or you can have carrot cake in a shot glass. Take your pick!

0.5 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
0.5 oz. Cinnamon Schnapps
0.5 oz. Frangelico

Pour each ingredient into a separate mixing glass. Mix thoroughly and strain into a chilled shot glass.

Oscar winner Johnny Depp is now available on DVD as of this past Tuesday. If you’re a Depp fan, then you’ve probably already seen it. If you’re a true Depp fan, then you’ve probably already bought it! For everyone else, head out to Blockbuster and see what you think about this Tim Burton directed horror musical.

Has anyone ever truly applauded the ways a simple piece of leather or fabric can really change the way you look in an outfit? Try a few styles that work for you. Wide and thick or long and skinny, spice up your style in a cinch.

1. Drink This! “Ginger Mango Martini”

Ice
3 oz. mango rum
3 oz. mango nectar
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
Champagne

Don’t be afraid of ginger, especially in your cocktail! It’s got a zesty spice that pairs very well with a smooth, super sweet fruit like mango. Fill a martini shaker with ice and add all ingredients except champagne. Strain and pour into martini glass. Top with champagne and serve.

Take a band of MIT mathematical geniuses and let them count a few cards on Vegas’ blackjack tables. Trouble’s bound to happen. This movie is based on a true story portrayed in Ben Mezrich’s book Bringing Down the House, and stars Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, and Laurence Fishburne. Interesting fact: The real-life mostly Asian-American MIT team has been casted with white actors, and that Hollywood decision has caused a minor uproar in various communities.

1 1/2 oz. Dark Creme de Cacao
1/2 oz. Vodka
1 tsp. Chocolate Syrup
1 tsp. Cherry Brandy
Dark chocolate shavings (optional)

Wet lip of glass lightly and dip into chocolate shavings. Shake creme de cacao and vodka with ice. Strain over ice in a martini glass. Top with a float of chocolate syrup and cherry brandy.
