Congratulations are in order for Ms. Whitney Houston! Whitney currently has the number one album in the country after selling 301k copies in the first week! This makes for the largest opening sales week of any female artist this year. That’s an amazing accomplishment and I’m glad to see Whitney back and doing her thing.

Don’t forget to catch what Oprah calls “the best interview I’ve ever done,” and an emotional performance of “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” on the season premiere of Oprah. The two-part episode airs Monday, September 14th, followed by part two on September 15th at 4pm EST.

I didn’t think I could ever be satisfied with a replacment judge after Paula Abdul’s untimely departure from American Idol, but I can’t help but be excited to share with you the news that Ellen DeGeneres is going to be the 4th judge on this season of American Idol!

Ellen had nothing but great things to say about her new gig:

“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol. I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text my vote.”

Other guest judges during Season 9 auditions include Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Shania Twain. Finally, Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones) is back on the set of Sex And The City 2 which filmed a few scenes in Manhattan on Tuesday. All four of the stars (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis) were photographed on the set ready to take NYC by storm! As we already know, the accessories and fashion were definitely on point.

Kathy Griffin, Toni Braxton, Ryan Kwanten, Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and the cast of MGM Film “Fame” (Asher Book, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Kherington Payne, Naturi Naughton, and Walter Perez) have all been added as presenters for the evenings festivities.
