July 12, 2007 iPhone Nano: Yes Or No?

iphone-hand.jpg

Just a few days ago, JP Morgan Chase analyst Kevin Chang cited a report that there may be a iPhone Nano on the way, but that idea was squashed yesterday by colleagues of the financial services giant. So what’s the truth?

Well, for now, Apple’s keeping quiet about it, but the idea would seem in line with their products and also the goal of offering something similar to people who may not be able to afford the hefty $500 price tag. Plus, it provides the option of having a scaled down version of the most talked about gadget of 2007. Reports estimate that this phone could cost about $300 or less, and it would offer less of the technological amenities of its predecessor.

June 27, 2007 The iPhone Vs. The Competition

iphone_photos.png

Everybody’s going to cop that iPhone when it drops on June 29th, which is just a few days away. Yeah, it’s cool to text your mom while you email your cousin about that new Cassie single you’re listening to and snap a photo of your best friend acting a monkey fool all at the same time, but by the beginning of July everybody will be doing that. And you’re not a follower. So here are a few other options for people who want that sexy tech-y piece without jumping on the band wagon.

Get your texts, photos and Internet in this new Motorola Rizr Z8. And it has a cute curved sliding design, which is very different than all of the other sliders on the market, angling the screen a bit as you text. It has the standard 2 megapixel camera, bluetooth capabilities, messaging, email and a music player. With a price tag around $600.00, it’s definitely worth a pretty penny. Interested? Check them out HERE.

The T-Mobile Wing is just a bit different from the Dash and the Sidekick. It’s the company’s newest all-in-one mechanism, and you can still program in your top five faves. Toss in the 2 megapixel camera, bluetooth capability, web browsing and a full QWERTY keyboard for messaging and emails, and it could really battle with the big boys this summer. Will this make it one of your cellular faves for about $300? You can get more details HERE.

It’s not as small as the Pearl (which could be a good thing for some people), but it’s super sleek and carries on the classic name and features of the Blackberry. The Blackberry Curve is on the market, and it’s causing a stir. You still can’t record video, but with the silver and black exterior, full QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel camera, bluetooth capability and of course its own emailing system. If there’s any phone on the market that’s worth $500, it’s probably this one due to its legacy alone. Get more info HERE.

We told you about the LG Prada phone a while ago in a previous post, and there’s still buzz about this designer cellular device. It costs quite a pretty penny coming in around $800, but some people are willing to drop that kind of cash for this touch screen device. Unfortunately, it’s not compatible with American cell technology, so we’d only recommend you drop your coins for this one if you’re a hob nobbing jet setter who can actually make use of it abroad.

samsungf700.jpg

The Samsung F700 popped up not too long after Apple announced the release of the iPhone. There’s no built in iPod, but it has a similarly designed touch screen, an additional full QWERTY keyboard and 5 megapixel camera (impressive!). It also comes with the standard messaging, email, web browsing and music player options as all the other smart phones. It’s a compact slider with the ability to challenge what Apple set up to be the epitome of all combination cellular devices. If the look tickles your fancy, and if you’re ready to pay anywhere from $700-$900 for this baby, get more info HERE.

helioocean.jpg

Although there have not been many Helios spotted out on the streets near us, it would only be right to mention the Helio Ocean version of the smart phone. It’s a bit larger than the average coming in at just over 5.5 oz., but that would only make sense when you find out that it has two keyboards—a numeric one for dialing and a QWERTY set for everything else. Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera capabilities, all the messaging and email you could ever want, video recording and a music player—it’s a good starter for anyone who’s ready to put their toe in the smart phone for about $300-$400. April 18, 2007 The Billionaire With The $1 Salary, The Phone With The $499 Price Tag

iphone-and-jobs.jpg

Apple Inc’s Chief Executive and Visionary, Steve Jobs, received a salary of $1 last year according to information provided from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Since returning to the company in 1997, Jobs has only taken a $1 paycheck each year but Jobs still owns more than $5.4 million dollars in restricted shares (worth $496 million). When his shares were fully vested in March 2006, Apple withheld about half that amount to cover Job’s taxes. Steve is reimbursed for his expenses, one of which includes a private jet.

Apple’s stock is always on the move since iPods hit the market a few years ago. On Monday, Apple stocks were up more than 80% from its 52 week low of $50.16. The upward movement is probably due to the iPhone’s approaching release date (June 2007). Though Jobs only receives $1 from Apple, he is still the largest shareholder at Disney after it acquired Pixar last year. Jobs is the former CEO of Pixar Animation Studios. Forbes Magazine ranked Jobs as the 132nd richest man, putting his net worth at $5.7 billion dollars.

The public is eagerly awaiting the iPhone, which features iPod music and video capabilities as well as touch screen technology, a camera, an HTML rich browser with built in Google features, maps and satellite images and also OS X Tiger’s popular Widget applications. The iPhone promises to be one of the most revolutionary phones of its kind, making it #1 on every geek and chic wish-list! Job’s innovation never ceases to amaze us!

February 13, 2007 Naomi Campbell’s New Weapon!

prada-phone-1.jpg

The next time you get HIT UPSIDE the head by Naomi Campbell, at least it will be new Prada! Just a month ago, LG Electronics and Prada released its plan for a completely touch screen mobile phone (the LG KE850) that would hit the streets in February 2007. Unfortch, it won’t be available in the States for a while, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get your European friends to pre-order one for your a$$! Just have your $800 ready. AND know that it’s not even compatible with American cell phone technology! (Another reason why living in Europe sounds better everyday…)

prada-phone-5.jpg prada-phone-4.jpg prada-phone-3.jpg prada-phone-2.jpg

This could prove to be some interesting competition for the Apple iPod phone, which, although similar, costs about $300 less. But it doesn’t have the sleek, luxurious, stupendously grown ‘n sexiness that is Prada. The streets are NOT ready!
