Jeezus! Some people should just know what topics to stick to in an interview. In Fiddy’s case, this means steering clear of politics. In an interview with Rap-Up magazine for its September/October issue he said about the 2008 presidential campaign:

I’d like to see Hillary Clinton be president and … this is a way for us to have Bill Clinton be president again, and he did a great job during his term.

And on the Iraq War:

I actually go to war, when I go to war. Bush just sends [people] to war.

I shouldn’t even have to point out what is all kinds of wrong with these “insightful” tidbits. Take me higher Lord!

August 23, 2007 Say What? Brad Pitt

Read what profound effect having children has had on him below. (From yesterday’s Today show interview)

It completely changes your perspective. And certainly takes the focus off yourself, which I’m really grateful for. I’m really grateful to them. I’m so tired of thinking about myself. I’m kinda sick of myself. I can’t do justice to it anymore than any other parent can. You feel that you want to be there and you don’t want to miss out on anything. And it’s a true joy. And you want to be there for them if they need anything. It’s a true joy.

August 20, 2007 Say What? Adam Levine

“She wouldn’t make any noise during sex. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was. I really thought, like a lot of guys, that she’d be the loud screaming type. But instead, she just lay there like a dead frog. She even got angry if I started to moan, saying it ‘ruined her concentration.’ It was so disillusionary that I went on Paxil for a month afterwards. Really, it was much more of a shock than when I found out there’s no such thing as the Easter Bunny.”

July 23, 2007 Say What? Kelly Clarkson

kelly-clarkson-quote.JPG

“There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the release of “My December,” much of which has focused on a supposed feud with my record label, in particular, Clive Davis. I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family. Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it’s respect and admiration that will keep us together. A lot has been made in the press about my relationship with Clive. Much of this has been blown way out of proportion and taken out of context. Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I’m well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time. He has been a key advisor and has been an important force in my success to date. He has also given me respect by releasing my new album when he was not obligated to do so. I really regret how this has turned out and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice. I would never intentionally hurt anyone. I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with. I am happy that my team is behind me and I look forward to the future.”

Great way to backstroke Kelly! It’s good to see her finally apologize formally on her website for her recent feud with Clive Davis, but I wonder if she will ever apologize for releasing her extremely whack My December album.

June 21, 2007 Isiah Washington: ABC “Fired the Wrong Guy!”

.
Isaiah Washington, whose contract was not renewed for season four of Grey’s Anatomy, is now saying ABC made a mistake letting him go.”They fired the wrong guy,” the actor tells his hometown paper, the Houston Chronicle. “I have to clear my name. I’ll start from the beginning. I’m telling everything.”

In case you missed it, Washington got in an altercation last season with co-star Patrick Dempsey. During this dispute, he allegedly referred to castmate T.R. Knight as a deragatory homosexual term. He later apologized, checked into rehab, met with gay leaders and released a public-service announcement denouncing hate speech.

Now he says that Knight exploited the incident and that he promoted his one-time use of the homophobic slur to damage Washington’s reputation.

Washington tells the Chronicle that he was wronged and may file a lawsuit. “My livelihood, my honor and dignity and my name have been so challenged,” he says and adds, “I was not fired for making homophobic slurs. I did everything I said I would do. I offered to go to counseling, to do a public service announcement. I wanted everyone to know I was remorseful. I’m not angry. I’m disappointed.”

Um, if you were not fired for making deragatory comments, what exactly were you fire for, Isiah? Someone needs to man up and move on.
