Rihanna is back in her native Barbados with her family and friends as she recuperates from what police sources have described a vicious attack at the hands of boyfriend Chris Brown. The R&B star’s father, Ronald Fenty, provided an update on her current injuries to People magazine after seeing his daughter on Friday “There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so.”

The concerned father added that he hopes his 20-year-old daughter would “move on” from dating Brown.

As to when Rihanna will speak out Fenty explained: “At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.”

A still shocked Fenty said that he “didn’t believe when he heard that his daughter had been roughed up. “You think you know somebody,” he said of Brown, “but you really don’t.”

The 55-year-old salesman and designer said he last saw his daughter and Brown together in July. “They seemed pretty happy,” he recalls. “I don’t know what went wrong.” [Source]

Take a listen to Mario’s “Emergency Room” demo intended to feature Rihanna off of his upcoming album. How ironic is this demo that deals with domestic violence in light of Rihanna’s alleged assault by Chris Brown. In the song, Rihanna’s character finds a receipt in her lovers pants hinting towards another woman, but in real life she read a text from another woman on Chris’ phone (allegedly). Take me higher Lord! Thoughts?

Jesus take the wheel, according to new reports Chris Brown threatened to kill Rihanna and then proceeded to choke her until she fainted during the alleged assault! Apparently it seems, all this monkey doddle foolishness was apparently started because of a late night text Brown received from another woman that Rihanna read. According to The NY Daily News:

The couple began fighting in Brown’s rented Lamborghini after leaving Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party late Saturday when Brown received a text message from another woman. Brown pulled over in a swanky Los Angeles neighborhood just before Rihanna grabbed the car keys and threw them out the window. After struggling to find the keys, Brown, 19, then wrapped his hands around his girlfriend’s neck and screamed, “I’m going to kill you.”

Rihanna has reportedly told police she lost consciousness and woke up to find Brown gone. Police answered a 911 call from a neighbor soon after and escorted the Barbados native to the hospital where she was treated for a split lip, contusions on her forehead and bite marks on her arms.

Brown is reportedly staying with his mother in Virginia and attempting to reach Rihanna, who won’t take his calls. Thoughts? Source:

It should never come to that place.”

Chris Brown’s former step-father had this to say (the same man who allegedly abused his mother when they were married):

When asked by Access Hollywood if he believed Brown hurt Rihanna, Donnelle Hawkins says, “I wouldn’t be surprised…He (Chris) has to take responsibility for his own actions.” Us

R&B singer Chris Brown is under investigation for alleged domestic violence felony battery, the LAPD confirms to Los Angeles Times.

The incident is being investigated as a felony domestic violence case, police said. It was reported about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Hancock Park. Brown and Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, were apparently in a car together and got into an argument on North June Street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department statement. Brown stopped the car, the two got out, and the argument escalated, according to police.
A witness called 911, but Brown was gone when officers arrived at the scene. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker, according to police.

Chris Brown and Rihanna had appeared together Saturday night at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy gala in Beverly Hills.

Shortly before the Grammy show began at 5 p.m. at Staples Center, Grammy officials issued a statement saying, “We have just been informed Rihanna will not be attending tonight’s 51st Grammy Awards. Rihanna will not be performing. We are sorry to see she is unable to join us this evening.” A publicist for the Barbados-born star, who sold more digital song downloads than any other in 2008 with nearly 10 million tracks, said Sunday night, “Rihanna is well. Thank you for your concern and support.” Her song “Disturbia,” which she’d been scheduled to perform at the ceremony, was the sixth best-selling digital track of the year. She was replaced by veteran soul singer Al Green, who was accompanied by country singer-guitarist Keith Urban. Brown’s record label spokesman did not respond to The Times’ request for comment. His whereabouts were unknown as the Grammy show began. Brown finished 2008 as the fourth-best-selling artist in the digital realm, posting 6.8 million tracks sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
