Merely hours ahead of it’s scheduled release, Rihanna’s long awaited video for “Russian Roulette” made its way to the internet. This dramatic clip does a great job of capturing the essence of the song. I was literally on edge waiting to see what was going to happen. While not as visually engaging as Lady Gaga’s newest video, Rihanna certainly wins the award for Best Drama. Not to mention, both she and her leading man (Jesse Williams) look amazing!

Rihanna visited “It’s On With Alexa Chung” in New York City earlier this week to discuss her new album. She rocked an Alexander McQueen Asymmetric-stripe Sweater Dress ($1,655) paired with black ankle boots and Grey Ant Status Sunglasses ($250).

For the first time I think we got a good look into her personality as she seems super happy and relaxed. In the interview, she discusses the metaphor behind her new single “Russian Roulette”, talks about some of her guilty pleasures, and recalls some of her super fierce fashion choices from the last few months. Rihanna dropped the highly anticipated video for her buzz single “Wait Your Turn” earlier today via her website. While I like the dark theme of the video, I’m not entirely sure what to think about it. It’s definitely going to give people something to talk about….that’s for sure. Earlier today, Ryan Seacrest confirmed the Young Jeezy assisted “So Hard” as being the official second single. He says:

Her second official single “So Hard” featuring rapper Young Jeezy, follows the album’s debut single “Russian Roulette,” a dark ballad which came as a surprise to many fans who expected a high-energy dance track.

In a recent interview, Rihanna finally opened up to Glamour magazine about everything from her new album and image, to domestic violence.

Domestic violence is a big secret. No kid goes around and lets people know their parents fight. Teenage girls can’t tell their parents that their boyfriend beat them up. You don’t dare let your neighbor know that you fight. It’s one of the things we [women] will hide, because it’s embarrassing. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.

I know it seems like Rihanna overload, but she is really hitting us something serious with this music. The new track, “So Hard”, was just premiered on NYC’s Hot 97 radio station. I think the song is fire! She is really coming with these hard-hitting anthems! Not to mention, Tricky Stewart & The Dream did the damn thing with this production. UPDATE: After listening to the song a few times I’ve decided that I really like it. I love the Rihanna’s delivery and her attitude throughout the entire track. I also really appreciate how she went back to her roots with the Bajan accent. I’m super duper excited for Rated R.

Rihanna wasted no time hitting us with a second single. “Wait Your Turn (The Wait Is Ova)” is a completely different offering from RiRi. I like it…I’m not sure I love it…but it’s a nice track. I prefer “Russian Roulette”.

I think the song is a certified hit! Rihanna’s vocals sound amazing…miles better than anything I’ve heard from her to date. The song itself has somewhat of an epic feel to it that’s hard to describe. The long awaited video for Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” premiered overnight. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the video just yet. I feel like I keep waiting for something big to happen, but all I’m getting is a bunch of performance shots of the gang in anticipation. The song has grown on me, but I may need to watch the video a few more times for me to actually like it the way I want to. Visually, I think the video looks amazing, but conceptually, I was hoping for something more…epic. Rihanna looks stunning as usual and it’s nice to see her working again.

The video finished filming last night so we can expect to see it soon, which is great because these pictures are making me really excited to see the final outcome. Jay-Z debuted his new single “Run This Town” from his upcoming Blueprint 3 album earlier today and it features the amazing Kanye West & Rihanna. This is a much better offering then the D.O.A. “buzz track” that was released a few weeks ago. Rihanna sounds great on the record and it’s so good to hear her doing music again. Kanye’s verse goes hard as well…except I could do without the “no homo” line. C’mon Kanye…I need for you to do better. The track isn’t outstanding by any means, but having such huge names on the record will definitely help it’s sales.
