“The Oprah Winfrey Show,” an iconic broadcast that grew from a local Chicago talk show into the foundation of a multibillion dollar media empire, will end its run in 2011 after 25 seasons on the air, Winfrey’s production company said Thursday night.

Winfrey, who became one of the most powerful women in entertainment from a seat on the couch of her set in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, plans to announce the final date for her show during a live broadcast on Friday, Harpo Productions Inc. said.

A Harpo spokeswoman declined to comment Thursday on Winfrey’s future plans except to say that “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will not be transferred to cable television.

Winfrey is widely expected to start up a new talk show on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, a much-delayed joint venture with Discovery Communications Inc. that is expected to debut in 2011. OWN is to replace the Discovery Health Channel and will debut in some 70 million homes.

CBS Television Distribution, which distributes “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to more than 200 markets blanketing the United States, held out hope that it could continue doing business with Winfrey, perhaps producing a new show out of its studios in Los Angeles.

I can’t begin to tell you how ecstatic I am to see Mimi on stage singing for her life! She looked absolutely radiant & healthy in a skin tight catsuit with her throwback honey brown curls! Baby, when I tell you Mimi went for those notes, honey she went in! Watch for Oprah’s reaction around the 4:14 mark. Congratulations are in order for Ms. Whitney Houston! Whitney currently has the number one album in the country after selling 301k copies in the first week! This makes for the largest opening sales week of any female artist this year. That’s an amazing accomplishment and I’m glad to see Whitney back and doing her thing.

Love muffins for the last nine years Oprah has been the sole cover girl on O magazine. But not for the upcoming April issue — Oprah is sharing the cover for the first time with First Lady Michelle Obama.

In the issue, which hits newsstands March 17, Michelle reveals some details on her new life in the White House. Here are some highlights:

On her first weekend in the White House: Well, we still had family here, so it was almost like a wedding. A huge, very complicated wedding. The last visitors didn’t leave until Sunday. And then the first Monday was kind of weird. You know: Now we live here, and Barack is getting up and going to work, and it’s just us. This is our home now.

On who the White House really belongs to: When you go out and come back, especially at night, with all the white lights on — it’s just beautiful. We feel privileged, and we feel a responsibility to make it feel like the people’s house. We have the good fortune of being able to sleep here, but this house belongs to America.

So now the store, Valentina, is trying to get its money the hard way — in court. Her daughter is a billionaire and gives away cars to a studio full of people and her mom has a $150,000 bill that is not being paid. Come on O, you can dig that out of your couch cushions. Thoughts?

OWN — for Oprah Winfrey Network — will debut next year in nearly 70 million homes with cable and satellite, part of a deal announced Tuesday with Discovery Communications. It will replace the Discovery Health network. The announcement builds a media empire that already includes the top-rated TV talk show, a magazine, a satellite radio network, a Web site, and TV movies made under her banner.

“This is an evolution of what I’ve been able to do every day,” Winfrey said. “I will now have the opportunity to do this 24 hours a day on a platform that goes on forever.”

Love muffins you have to watch Oprah today! The talk show diva flew out the entire Osmond family for a one-hour special. Marie Osmond said in regards to her father’s recent passing:

“We talked about it and my father would want us all to be here,” Marie Osmond tells Oprah on her show. “He loved his family.”

The patriarch of the Osmond family, George Osmond, was scheduled to travel to Chicago to tape the show, but suddenly died on Tuesday at age 90 at his home in Provo, Utah.

Grandpa George was survived by nine children, 55 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.

The 27 year-old employee has finally been arrested in connection to charges of physical and sexual abuse at Oprah Winfrey’s girls’ school in South Africa, a rep for the school announced today.The matron will appear in court Monday. A name was not disclosed. Oprah who was abused as a child broke down in tears to parents of the $40 million school during an emergency meeting on October 21st, apologizing for the alleged abuse allegations. Oprah stated that “Nothing is more serious or devastating to me than an allegation of misconduct by an adult against any girl at the Academy,” she told Usmagazine.com in a statement. “I will do everything within my power to ensure their safety and well-being.”She added: “I’ve disappointed you. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.” This makes me so sad Love Muffins. My heart goes out to Oprah and the families involved in this horrific situation!

One of my idols talk show queen, Oprah Winfrey, broke down in tears on Saturday as she apologized for the recent alleged allegations of physical and sexual abuse at her $40 million girls’ school in South Africa.

“I trusted her (Dr Mzimane). When I appointed her, I thought she was passionate about the children of Africa.

“But, I’ve been disappointed,” Oprah said in tears last Saturday.

The father of one of the pupils had responded by telling Oprah: “It’s not your fault. We don’t blame you.”

“You trusted them. You have more passion for the school and its existence than anyone else in this country, including us parents.”

Oprah gave parents the assurance she would do everything possible to ensure that those who had been guilty of abuse would be dealt with.

It’s sad when you are trying to do good and something like this happens! Oprah’s “daughters” have accused Dr. Mzimane of failing to take action, although the girls had often complained of being grabbed by the neck, beaten and thrown against a wall, and being sworn at.

… to the big O! There are reports that Oprah has invited Britney Spears to do her show this week but Britney didn’t bother returning her call!

“Oprah called Britney personally,” a Harpo mole tells Star Magazine. “But despite repeated attempts, Britney never had the courtesy to call her back.”

Well I don’t think Brit-Brit who still trying to pull herself together needs to be doing Oprah this week either but she should definitely pick up the phone to return her call though! Oprah is a very powerful woman who can single-handedly revive her career. Thoughts?

Well apparently Rosie O’Donnell has declined Oprah’s invitation to come on her show to discuss her latest book ‘Celebrity Detox’, which lashes out at Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Donald Trump and others. Page six is reporting that instead of doing an interview with Oprah, Rosie has opted to do an interview with Diane Sawyer.

O’Donnell’s rep, Cindi Berger, says:

“Rosie has always been booked with Diane. We gracefully declined Oprah’s offer. I’m sure Rosie will do Oprah’s show another.”

Okay love muffins do you remember when Oprah recommended James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces in her book club, and then publicly ripped him into A Million Little Pieces (for exaggerating certain events of his life) on her show? Vanity Fair has really out done themselves! The magazine, with the help of Bono, has published a special Africa issue with 20 unique covers featuring the world’s most influential and prominent people including—George W. Bush, Oprah Winfrey, Condoleezza Rice AND Bill and Melinda Gates. All of the breathtaking photographs were taken by the legendary Annie Leibovitz.

According to Annie, the process took nearly two months to complete and the concept of the covers are a “visual chain letter, spreading the message from person to person to person.”

Recent reportings say that Oprah Winfrey, while at a mega luxury hotel near Disneyland in California, was feeling herself a little too much! Apparently, the entertainment mogul was too-diva-to-handle. When the largest suite in the hotel was already booked and Oprah had to settle for second in size, she made her unhappiness known. Loud and clear!

She supposedly was not happy with the water they brought in and requested that new bottles be refrigerated and ready by each time she made a return to her room. The impossible part was she requested that they only enter her room when one of her assistants was in. The assistants are only in when Oprah is in! Therefore, how was the water ever to make it to the room before her?!

Water was only one of the few “impossible” demands that Mistress Oprah made before checking out of the hotel the very next day.

I have one question to ask Oprah: Baby, am I doing too much!?!
