Rocking a divine strapless Alexander McQueen ensemble Nicole Kidman was a picture of red carpet perfection at the 41st Annual Country Music Awards at the Sommet Center in Nashville, TN on Wednesday. Nicole was on hand to support her husband Keith Urban who was up for a number of awards including Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and the coveted Entertainer of the Year. Well the word on the street is that Nicole Kidman’s new movie The Golden Compass is expected to be a super dupe flop, , primarily due to a “talking armored polar bear.”

Early buzz on “The Golden Compass” – based on the first book in Philip Pullman’s “His Dark Materials” trilogy – is negative as well. “It is a $175 million investment for New Line Cinema, which has been hurting ever since ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy,” says an insider. “People working on the movie say it is just plain bad.” The picture is said to rely too much on computer-generated images and may stumble with its talking, armored polar bear.

In the October issue of Vanity Fair Nicole Kidman “bares all” about Tom, Keith, rehab, marriage and the baby she still longs for. Nicole Kidman also has three big screen movies to be released this year! Yes, it’s not a mistake. Nicole Kidman will be featured in ads for “More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old is Your Brain” for Nintendo DS in Europe. In the ads, Nicole will be depicted at home training her brain with the game by speaking into the DS and quizzing herself with some of the game’s challenges. Looks like a weird match to me. Does Nicole secretly need money or something?
