Katie Holmes was spotted recently getting into a car on the streets of New York City. I personally love what she has on, compared to the boyfriend jeans (well Tom Cruise’s jeans) she normally wears. Reportedly, her ex boyfriend Joshua Jackson stopped by to see her with flowers.

“Katie has been looking skinny and depressed and, like any concerned friend, rather than do nothing Joshua wanted to check everything was ok. They haven’t spoken in a while and, naturally, he was worried,” a source told the magazine. “So he just decided to drop by. It was really sweet, he just turned up unexpectedly with a bunch of flowers and said, ‘Hello stranger’. Katie was shocked, but so happy to see him. It was a wonderful surprise. The stars came out to support Ben Stiller at the Los Angeles premiere of Tropic Thunder on Monday. During the event, many people were out front picketing the movie because they believed that people with mental disabilities were being made fun of. However, Ben said that it was not the case.

“It’s sort of edgy territory, but we felt that as long as the focus was on the actors who were trying to do something to be taken seriously that’s going too far or wrong, that was where the humor would come from”…Tropic Thunder cowriter Etan Cohen [added] “Some people have taken this as making fun of handicapped people, but we’re really trying to make fun of the actors who use this material as fodder for acclaim. The last thing you want is for people to think you’re making fun of the victims in this who are having their lives turned into fodder for people to win Oscars.” E!

Eva Mendes glowed as she and Liv Tyler attended the Blue Soiree Party Monday while in Paris. Both ladies looked extremely beautiful. Eva has a new movie, The Spirit, slated for a December 2008 release in which her co-stars include Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. Speaking of Samuel, I recently saw Eva’s lastest movie The Cleaner also co-starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ed Harris. It was pretty good. On Sunday, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri decided to have some mommy and daughter time while in matching ensembles. That is super duper adorable!
