Jennifer Hudson made an appearance in central park yesterday evening to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the classic film The Wizard of Oz. She took to the stage to give an exhilarating performance of “Over the Rainbow” and while it was over the top, she sounded absolutely amazing and it was a really original rendition. Jennifer Hudson and her fiancé David Otunga welcomed their son David Daniel Otunga Jr. on Monday. “The baby is beautiful and perfect,” says Hudson’s rep Lisa Kasteler. “His parents are ecstatic.” The newborn weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz., at birth. Congratulations to the happy family!

Love muffins, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson had a baby shower in Chicago over the weekend. According to US, it was “a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family…they’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet. It was a nice time that we had!”.

Love muffins, Jennifer Hudson’s brother-in-law, William Balfour, has been arrested in the murders of Jennifer’s mother and nephew.

“He is awaiting formal charges for three counts of murder,” a police department spokesman told E! News. “There likely will be a press conference once there are formal charges against him.”

However, Balfour’s defense attorney insists that his client is innocent.

“He vehemently denies that he is guilty in this case,” Kutnick said. “Any evidence pointing to Mr. Balfour is not even thin. It is very, very weak.”

On Sunday, Jennifer Hudson posted on her MySpace blog thanking her fans and asking for a safe return of her nephew, Julian King, after hearing the horrific news that her mother and brother were shot to death just days ago.

CHICAGO (WLS) — The mother and brother of singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson were found shot to death inside a home Friday. Police have confirmed Hudson’s mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, is one of the deceased. The other victim has been identified as Jennifer Hudson’s brother, Jason S. Hudson, 29. The home where the bodies were discovered aruond 3 p.m. Friday is at 7019 S. Yale in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. Property records indicate the home belongs to Donerson. –

After Dreamgirls I was expecting a full album within the year but I guess Clive Davis is taking a while to perfect her debut album. Sources report that both Fergie and Jennifer Hudson are singing on the soundtrack of the ‘Sex and the City’ movie that is set to be in theaters May 30th – and oh believe me – I can’t even see this movie quick enough. ‘Sex and the City’ director MICHAEL PATRICK KING says that Fergie sings the film’s opening number, “Labels & Love,” which is a totally new song and describes it as having “the ‘Sex and the City’ theme as the DNA — on steroids.” King says that Oscar winner Hudson, who also stars in the film as SARAH JESSICA PARKER’s sassy assistant, sings the ballad “All Dressed Up in Love” over the closing credits “like nobody’s business.” Love Muffins – after all of this time – are you still excited about seeing ‘Sex and the City’ come to life on the big screen?

It’s Fashion Week in NYC so it’s time to pull out your fiercest outfit and walk down the nearest concrete runway near you. Look for the annual Fashion Rocks concert that will air tomorrow night at 9 p.m. pst. Fashion Rocks is all about showing the splendiferous relationship between fashion and music and will feature some of today’s most stylish artists alongside cutting edge designers.

This year look for unexpected duets such as Usher and Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Santana, and Fergie with Ludacris. There will also be performances by Avril Lavigne, Carrie Underwood, Aerosmith, J. Lo, and Jennifer Hudson.

Since we’re on the subject of JH, the remake of the Stevie Wonder classic “Overjoyed” featuring J. Hud was recently leaked. The remake has a grown and sexy type feel and, while I’m a big fan of this beauty, I’m on the fence with her vocals on this track. I think she may be oversinging it a little but then again, she does have a voice as big as her ta ta’s. Give it a listen and let me know if she’s on point or doing a little too much.

Jennifer Hudson – Overjoyed

Nicole Scherzinger’s debut solo album isn’t due until October 16th but the album tracks are starting to leak. The newest leak is “Super Villain” which was produced by Mad Scientist and has more of a Pop flair than the R&B/Hip Hop feel she has on the lead single “Whatever You Like”. I think the song is alright, but more of an album filler than a single. Take a listen.

“It’s not hip-hop” she says firmly. “Let’s just say that. I don’t have anything against it, but it’s not the music that I like to sing. There’s some pop in there, and some R&B-soul, but,” she pauses for emphasis, “not hip-hop”

Jennifer Hudson & her stylist, Andre Leon Talley, made an appearance at the Valentino 45th anniversary celebration. As the Editor-at-Large of Vogue, I am terribly disappointed in Mr. Talley’s ensemble. This African dashiki is doing beyond the most! What do you think love muffins?

There’s been so much talk about Jennifer Hudson’s live performance of “And I Am Telling You” at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party. Now you can finally see what all the fuss was about. In my humble opinion J. Hud surely delivered the goods with this song. F@#k what you heard! This chick said “SHE’S STAYING”. And after the way she sang that song, I have no choice but to believe her!!!!

Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Anika Noni Rose performed a medley of “Love You I Do”, “Listen” and “Patience” at the 2007 Academy Awards, which was, in my opinion, the true highlight of the show!

Ellen Degeneres was absolutely perfect! Her Oscar opening had the right balance of humor and edge! “If it weren’t Blacks, Jews & Gays there would be no Oscars or anything named Oscar!” That statement was priceless!

In case you missed it, Will Ferrell and Jack Black took the stage for what was their first and most likely only Oscar performance ever. The act was brilliant! Leave it to two of our generation’s most hilarious comedic box office blasters to take a stab at something that is oh so true–mainstream comedies will never win awards. My question is, why was John Reilly in the mix? Adam Sandler would’ve KILLED it! When Will Farrell said “Mark Wahlberg! Actually I won’t mess with you, you’re actually pretty bad-ass!” I died for laughter!

Al Gore and Leonardo Dicaprio’s little skit was very cute too!

Janet Jackson, who looked just splendiferous, came out to celebrate Giant Magazine’s covergirl Jennifer Hudson last night. She looked much better than the last time.
