Lord knows I love my music videos and 2007 gave me plenty to savor. Particularly I thought Gwen Stefani’s video for “The Sweet Escape” was not only visually groundbreaking but she looked drop-dead gorgeous in it as well. Being the optimist I am, I usually try to approach everything in life with a positive attitude but sometimes you gotta call a spade a spade. For every high expectation I had this year, there were equally horrible disappointment waiting around the corner. Nothing seemed to embody this sentiment more than Britney Spears at the VMAs. Who or What Disappointed You Most This Year?

Gwen Stefani, a Southern California native, is reaching out to victims of the wildfires by donating proceeds of her Tuesday concert at San Diego’s Cox Arena to local charity the San Diego Foundation, which is helping the community recover from the ongoing disaster. Stefani announced the effort on San Diego radio station 93.3 KHTS on Monday morning (October 29). “San Diego has always been so supportive of me throughout my entire career … living in Orange County, it has always been like a second home to me,” she said on air.

Wow, now that’s a tight schedule for ya!

As previously reported Verizon Wireless abruptly pulled out as the presenting sponsor on Gwen Stefani’s current tour due to Akon’s Trinidad shenanigans costing her $2 million. I wonder why Gwen decided to keep him on as the opening act…. I bet she secretly has a sweet tooth for chocolate!

During an Akon concert on the island last month that was unaffiliated with Mrs. Rossdale’s tour, the R&B singer danced provocatively with a 15-year-old fan. When the pictures and video popped up all over the net, the wireless provider suddenly got nerves and pulled out. Also, the company has removed all Akon ringtones and music from it’s devices and stores–including V Cast TV spots.

This pullout, so to speak, will cost Gwen’s tour almost $2 million. So much for “It Don’t Matter”!

…during her ‘4 in the Morning‘ video shoot, which just so happens to be my favorite song off her latest album. Sophie Muller was selected as the video director for ‘4 In The Morning’. She also directed her last effort ‘Wind It Up.’ The video concept is going to be more naturalistic and reminiscent of the old Gwen we used to know.

Gwen Stefani will always be beautiful to me but I’m personally over the platinum blonde wig that she has been rocking for a bit to long.

Gwen Stefani recently announced that her next single from The Sweet Escape will be the 80’s inspired ballad “4 In The Morning“. Personally I couldn’t be happier because I adore this song. She wrote this song when she was pregnant with her song Kingston and her No Doubt bandmate and ex-boyfriend ,Tony Kanal, produced the song.
