Eva Mendes and Ashlee Simpson wore this ensemble on different occasions, but love muffins can you tell me who rocked it better? Did Eva do it for you in this blue strapless dress, or did Ashlee wet your lips in this bright orange dress?

August 8, 2008 Eva Covers ‘Marie Claire’!

Eva Mendes looks divine as she graces the cover of the September issue of Marie Claire magazine. Below is a preview of the article:

Every time I mention the name Eva Mendes to another guy, he gets this stupid grin on his face while, no doubt, fantasizing: Eva Mendes mowing his lawn. Eva Mendes juicing kale in his kitchen. But when I mention Eva’s name to a woman, the response is almost a nonresponse. “Oh,” the woman will invariably say, “she’s . . . really pretty.” Coming from a woman, this is not necessarily a compliment, which isn’t to say it’s not a fact. At 33, Eva Mendes is uniquely pretty, Revlon-commercial pretty, the-new-face-of-Calvin-Klein-underwear pretty — but, as a matter of conversational reflex, one woman calling another woman “really pretty,” and only that, is also a way of outright dismissing her. What these women really mean when they remark on Eva’s bone structure and skin tone is that she is not an intimate in the Sarah Jessica Parker/Jennifer Aniston sense. She is that suspect thing, a guy’s girl — who stars in movies for dudes, about dudes (2 Fast 2 Furious, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Training Day, Ghost Rider), with all that implies. But if Eva has her way, this is about to change.

July 16, 2008 Candids: Eva, Ashlee, Katie

Eva Mendes was spotted dropping in coins in a meter in Los Angeles on Tuesday. She looked calm and cool in her zipped blue floral dress all the way down to her Chanel sandals. The bag is cute, but not with this ensemble. Mom-to-be Ashlee Simpson and her husband Pete Wentz arrived at ‘Cafe Med’ for lunch in Los Angeles on Tuesday as they fought their way through the crowd. Her bedazzled flats are super duper hot! Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise, and baby Suri stopped by Union Station after Katie filmed a cameo appearance on ABC’s Eli Stone. I’ve watched the television show maybe about three times. Are you a fan of the show? Will Katie make you want to watch the show? View more pictures after the jump – CONTINUE READING

July 10, 2008 Eva Mendes Window Shops Too!

The splendiferous actress Eva Mendes did a little window shopping on Wednesday in Beverly Hills, Ca. You better do that girl. Some days, I just want to browse through clothes. I may have the money on me to purchase an item, but I am not about to buy something I necessarily don’t need. I love her layered black ensemble! She recently did an article with the magazine Interview in which the interviewer thought it was funny to joke about people in rehab. She replied saying that was just “tacky”. Thoughts? July 7, 2008 Eva Mendes Spices Up ‘Interview’!

Eva Mendes looks absolutely stunning on the August 2008 issue of Interview. She talks about the rumors circulating about her stay in rehab, many big roles that she is often overlooked for a more ‘American’ look, and what it is like to be Latina in Hollywood. Here is a little preview:

Substance Abuse
DC: First of all, what is it with actors and substance abuse?…They’re going to have to change the name of it to “Alcoholics Unanimous.”

EM: I’m not making jokes, because people die from this stuff. So, honestly, I think it’s a bit tacky that you made a joke. I’ve got to be honest…I’m not angry. But because celebrities’ lives are so visible, I think it makes it look lighter than it is. I have a really good sense of humor, I’m just very sensitive. The other day I was reading an article. I don’t even remember who the actress was, but she’s been around for a long time. She said something like, “I’m proud that I’ve had a whole career without making it to rehab.” I thought, That’s such a negative twist on it. I’m proud of people who have the determination and the fearlessness to actually go and face their demons and get better. This is a life or death situation. Again, I’m not a spokesperson for this, but it’s just that I want to support people for their decisions when they do go in and get help.
