So apparently Britney wanted to go brown at the last minute, Vegas Confidential is reporting:

Britney Spears’ backstage drama Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards included her insistence that she wanted to have brown hair.

But she was overruled by her management team and she wore extensions from Jessica Simpson’s Hair-u-Wear line, Vegas Confidential has learned.

Backstage spies say Spears pitched a fit. She had arranged for her own hair stylist to make the trip for $10,000 and “she wanted to go brown, but her people said ‘no way,’” said a backstage source.

It’s sounds like all types of unnecessary shinagans was going on leading up to Brit-Brit’s tragic performance! But in the end only Britney is to blame and the excuses need to stop now!

Once again here’s what I had to say about the whole thing!

It is being reported that Celine Dion cried for Britney Spears during a recent radio show interview and is quoted as saying, “What brit needs right now is her mom. I’m willing to play that role.” (B. Scott couldn’t agree more!)

Britney has no one to blame other than herself for her disastrous Sunday VMA performance.

A little birdie is telling me that she arrived almost three-and-a-half hours late for rehearsal, refused to attempt the more complicated dance moves, and remixed the outfit she was supposed to wear.

Page Six is reporting:

”She didn’t even get to Las Vegas until 4:30 p.m. It was ridiculous . . . The production people at MTV were freaking out . . . Nobody can tell Britney what to do anymore. No one can control her. She is a mess”

Once she arrived Brit-Brit couldn’t do the more the intricate dance moves, and so they were cut.

“The dance number was spectacular – without her. When the stand-in was rehearsing with the dancers, in the hours they were all waiting for her, it was amazing,” the source said. “Then Britney showed up and refused to do anything. The dancers were supposed to lift and twirl her in the air a few times, and that just wasn’t going to happen. The more complicated dance moves had to be erased because she couldn’t do them.”

In terms of the outfit this what the little birdie had to say:

“MTV wanted her to wear a corset outfit. It would have looked great and covered a lot of things up, but she hated it and didn’t think it was sexy enough,” the insider says. Instead, Britney opted to rock a barely there bra-and-underwear outfit she’d brought with her that emphasized her weight gain.

One would think that after such a horrible performance Britney would go home and regroup but no she was at the club partying till 3am! Take me higher lord!
